“The Lord had said to Abram, leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you. So Abram departed as the Lord had instructed, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.” Genesis 12:1-4. God spoke to Abraham and believed what He said to him was true, real, and attainable, and Abraham believed and acted accordingly.

What you believe and consistently follow will change your life, will change what you do and how you do them, it will change your dreams and your expectations. It will either lift you up high or take you down the path of destruction. The word of God is intended o lift you up, keep you up, sustain you high and bless your life despite the challenges you will experience and the obstacles that Satan will place on the way to trip, to test, and to tempt you. Stand firm on the word of God you believe, stand firm with Jesus Christ whom you follow, stand firm of the words of His promises that you have heard, despite the delays and the frustrations brought to you by Satan and his agents the words of God and His promises will not fail and you not fail.

Abraham began his journey with God the very day and moment he heard God speaking directly to him. He began with a clear word from God, with a life-changing promise from God, a promise he desired and never wanted to miss; in following God’s words and the promises, he developed a personal vision around the word and the promises he heard; developed a strong faith to truly and strongly believe what he heard, and he set out on the mission to actualize what he heard based on what he had believed and the vision of the promise in his heart. His belief and faith was so strong on those words and promises he heard such that Abraham was called a friend of God, and in following them despite the delays and the battles, God did not fail him and he did not fail God

God gave Abraham His promise when Abraham was seventy (75) years old. A promise of a place he will call his own, a promise of riches and wealth, a promise of a child from his wife Sarah who will be the covenant child, and a covenant that will last till eternity. With all of these promises in mind, Abraham set out in faith and in absolute believe, trusting God to do what He had said, but Abraham suffered delays in see the promises fulfilled, fight battles with people along the way had a quarrel with Lot His uncle which brought about their separation, yet with all those troubles, with the twenty years of delays, and with old age, Abraham never gave up on the promises, never gave up on what God told him and never decided to stop trusting God or tun his back on the promises and start doing something else. He continued in faith in the words of God, he continued in obedience to every instruction and continued in the vision of His heart on the word he heard. “It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith, for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise. Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God.” Hebrews 11:8-10.

What will make you desire or contemplate turning back from following Christ Jesus, trusting His words, believing His ability and willingness to fulfill His promises to you? God had never been a failure and He will never fail in your case. Abraham did not turn back despite delays. Don’t turn back, God will take you through, He will fulfill His words, He will grant you the promise. He is keeping you. He did it for Abraham, He will do it for you. Hold the word, hold the promise, hold the vision to His promises, you will see them fulfill by His power. For prayers, Click here
