DEAR LORD, SHOULD I CONTINUE IN THIS PRAYER?

“Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.” Jeremiah 33:3. We are asked by the Almighty God to pray always and everywhere irrespective of the past we have known, seen and experienced; we are asked to pray concerning what we are experiencing in life wherever we are; we are asked to pray concerning our future and the future; we are asked to pray in all situations irrespective of our locations. By God asking us to pray, He is asking us to participate in shaping our lives, our future and the future we desire according to His word and people. It should be noted that if we do not pray, we will be forced to accept whatever situation we find ourselves. Christians should stop living in the assumption that all things will go well everywhere. God wants us to pray and we should pray that all things go well everywhere. Living in assumption is not healthy to our faith, does not improve our well-being, does not help our situations or solve our problems, does not encourage growth in grace and does not help take out difficulties. By praying, we are desiring to live in His promises to us, we are desiring to see His words fulfilled everywhere, we are desiring to see Him in action and know He is the one doing it, and we are desiring to give Him the glory He deserves in our lives and in the world.

Prayer does not depend on the pains and sufferings we go through, it depends on the desires of our heart, on our knowledge of God, our willingness to submit to His plans, His words, and His ways in everything we do everywhere we find ourselves. Irrespective of what people may say, feel, or experience in their own lives past and present; irrespective of all their earthly believes, tradition and religion; irrespective of their good names, great or low positions in the churches or job; irrespective of their religious or secular offices and affiliations, prayers to the Almighty God works wonders and achieves great things. Prayers bring positive changes to people around the world, and prayers change both physical and spiritual situations. Prayers open doors of favor and blessings that had been closed at the same time close evil doors that had been opened to destroy and keep us from progressing. Prayers set people free, it breaks yokes in peoples, in families, in communities, and in Nations. Prayer attracts favor from God and destroys evil powers set to hold us captive forever. Prayer sets apart and brings us to the throne of God to obtain grace and mercy and to overcome evil powers and forces of darkness we do not even know is existing and working against our lives and desires and plans.

Prayer is the only best-assured means of communicating our feelings, our pains, our desires, our needs, our joy, and our expectations to the Almighty God. Prayer works in every location and Nation under the sun, it works in the lives of men and in all human situations irrespective of age, gender, nationality, profession, wealth, family background and situations. It should be noted that even when our prayers and desires in life after prayers are unduly delayed, even when we do not receive answers to our prayers as expected, even when we feel uncomfortable and humiliated by the devil after prayers, even when we are disappointed thereafter, prayer still works and God is still in charge of our lives and He knows the future better than we can ever think or imagine.

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts, says the Lord, my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:8-12. Irrespective of the past you have a future, continue to pray and continue to trust living God. He alone can and He will do it. For prayers, Click here
