NOW I REALLY KNOW

Due to the some unpleasant occurrences which are quite contrary to our dreams, expectations, visions and desires in our lives despite our complete submission, faithfulness, seriousness and dedication in serving, obeying and following our Lord Jesus, some we can truly explain and some we cannot, unknown thoughts and imaginations will start clouding our understanding and hopes in the love and saving grace of our Lord Jesus to us. This will surely leave us wondering privately and openly about the truth in the word in the word of God. But despite our thoughts and actions, the word of God will forever remain true and very effective.

There are some times in life when no form of explanation, no consolation, no encouragement, no motivation, no prayer, no fasting and no insight will be strong enough to change your feelings and conviction of the reality of what God is doing in your live despite the delays, the denial, the daily frustrations and confrontations, the shame, and the abuses, what God can do despite the odds you face in your righteous activities, and what He had done in the life of other. While I will encourage you not allow such feelings to take its destructive roots in you, I will want to assure you that such feelings are not new in the scripture and to our Lord God.

One thing I want you to know is that God and His word and all of His feelings are far bigger and superior than any kind of feelings you may ever have in your life time. One of the destructive part of such feeling is that keeps us in an anger mood with God and every other person and opens the door for the devil to take advantage of us and cause depression and possible possession. God had no intent in keeping you in any awkward thoughts and feeling perpetually. He has no intent in making you angry with yourself or with Him or with anyone. The devil rejoices when he see you in that form irrespective of its sources.

Apostle Peter never did anything wrong, he was serving God passionately with all dedication and truthfulness, yet God allowed king Herod to arrest him and keep him in prison waiting public execution. His faithfulness did not stop Herod, his prayers and truthfulness did not stop Herod from arresting him, but the prayers of the church freed him from the hands and thoughts of Herod. That is what prayer can and will do for you.

“About that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to afflict and oppress and torment some who belonged to the church. And he killed James the brother of John with a sword; and when he saw that it was pleasing to the Jews, he proceeded further and arrested Peter also. This was during the days of Unleavened Bread. And when he had seized Peter, he put him in prison and delivered him to four squads of soldiers of four each to guard him, purposing after the Passover to bring him forth to the people. So Peter was kept in prison, but fervent prayer for him was persistently made to God by the church. The very night before Herod was about to bring him forth, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, fastened with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison. And suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the place where he was. And the angel gently smote Peter on the side and awakened him, saying, Get up quickly. And the chains fell off his hands. And the angel said to him, Tighten your belt and bind on your sandals. And he did so. And he said to him, Wrap your outer garment around you and follow me. And Peter went out following him, and he was not conscious that what was apparently being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. When they had passed through the first guard and the second, they came to the Iron Gate which leads into the city. Of its own accord swung open, and they went out and passed on through one street; and at once the angel left him. Then Peter came to himself and said, Now I really know and am sure that the Lord has sent His angel and delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting to do to me.” Acts 12:1-11 For Prayer Click here
