LOOK UP, LOOK FORWARD

Stop mourning over your past. Stop wishing for that which is over. Look up and look forward, greater things are ahead for you in Christ Jesus and you must never miss them. God is still in and with you despite the past mistakes and misdeeds of men, He is with you till the very best end He alone designed and destined for you in life. No one will and no one has taken your place despite your circumstances, delays and frustrations. What was made for you in heaven has your name clearly labeled on it without any mistake. The devil cannot take it, change it and no man can take it from you. Did you know that there is no one like you before God?  You were specifically crafted for a purpose best known by your creator and you will fulfill them all through His grace.

Immediate reconciliation with God, self and others is the key to getting past what is past and embracing the future with hope and renewed vigor. You cannot reinvent the past but you can joyfully embrace and quicken that which is ahead. One of the greatest reasons for lack of self-motivation is our continuous cries and sorrows over our past mistakes in life, disappointments, missteps, and misfortune. There is an appointment that God had set to take place in your life and when it happens, it will wipe away the tears of yesterday’s disappointment and failures, and will give you greater reasons and boldness to rejoice and celebrate.

Look up do not look down, look forward and do not look back. Whenever you spend your time looking back and down, you will always see your weaknesses and failures and will never see the road of progress and assurance of the hope to come. Looking back hinders our overall progress in life and saps us of motivation and energy in making any effort to get pass it into that which lies ahead for us in Christ Jesus. Every successful person had stumbled at one point in his or her life. It is not how many times you are disappointed that will tell your true and appealing story, but how many times you get up and get out of its negative effect and keep going towards better and greater things that will tell your true story of determination and courage. Apostle Paul wrote “We are hedged in (pressed) on every side [troubled and oppressed in every way], but not cramped or crushed; we suffer embarrassments and are perplexed and unable to find a way out, but not driven to despair; We are pursued (persecuted and hard driven), but not deserted [to stand alone]; we are struck down to the ground, but never struck out and destroyed” 2 Corinthians 2:8-9. If unbelievers can wake up from a fall or disappointment and move on to greater things, you can do better, because like Paul, you can say to yourself “I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency]” Philippians 4:13. That is your rightful heritage in Christ Jesus as a believer.

David expressed his determination and desires this way; “I look up to the mountains does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps.  The Lord himself watches over you. The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord Keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.” Psalm 121:1-8

When you look up you will see God and will receive from Him what it takes to move on in life. You will receive the grace to over the effects of disappointment and look forward to greater things that He had made for you. You can achieve that success. Look up and look forward in Christ Jesus.
