"WHAT MATTERS, AND WHAT DOES NOT (IV)"

“When Jehovah brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream. How we laughed and sang for joy. And the other nations said what amazing things the Lord has done for them. Yes, glorious things; what wonder; what joy. May we be refreshed as by streams in the desert. Those who sow tears shall reap joy. Yes, they go out weeping, carrying seed for sowing, and return singing, carrying their sheaves.” Psalms 126:1-6. When we give ourselves to what matters most in life, the result will not only be referred to refreshment in our lives, it will become our new identity from then on. God will not only stop at refreshing us and leave us just there; He will do amazing things for eyes to see; He will do wonderful things that we will live to experience, and He will do joyful things that we will forever remember. God will give us tangible reasons to have joy and to rejoice in Him and in our salvation; He will give us a harvest time that everyone will reap and everyone will have a harvest moment; He will turn our weeping into joy; He will cause our seeds to produce fruits, and we will always rejoice in the results of our labors.

When He did that of Israel, they experienced it; it was clearly seen by the people around; it was well known that God had visited them and turn their captivity around, and it was a testimony to the people and the nations that saw them. You will not be hidden, you will experience it, you will see it clearly, you will be recognized by the new things around you, and will have a testimony to tell. When the things that matter takes its place in our lives, the changes we expected will begin to happen, our given names will not be a hindrance because our circumstance will also change, our skin color will not hinder us; our spoken language will not be a hindrance, our location will not be a hindrance, our profession will not be a hindrance, our colleagues will not be a hindrance, evil manipulations will not stop us and frustrations will not be seen in us. When God took away the captivity of Israel, it was a sweet dream in the night that manifested instantly; they laughed and sang joyfully to the Almighty God.

What matters is that the circumstance that resulted in our present situation can change; God can change it or reverse it permanently, He can close the old doors that had been against us, and He can open new doors that will favor us; He can give us new and better opportunities despite the ones we thought we had permanently missed; He can course the unexpected that will glorify His name to happen in our lives; He can bring forth the best we have been asking for, dreaming of, wishing for, and working for all these years. God can change everything about us without prior announcement of any form. He can accomplish His work in our lives without giving us a dream, a vision, a prophecy, a vision, or an insight into His programs and plans; He can quicken our ways, our steps, and our words; He open closed doors, and He can shut open doors; He can take away our afflictions, heal our relationships, give health to our bodies, and He can establish us again, raising us up from where we had fallen. There is nothing too hard for Him to do when He is in control of our lives, and that is what matters.

In forgiveness, God took our past away, gave us insight into His plans and our new lives in Him; in salvation we taken a step of faith into that new life; through grace He gave us the chance to get things right and reap harvest in our new lives and new environment; by faith we are no more in the entanglement of the old captivity of pains, anger, frustration and disappointments of the devil because we have started taking hold of the future that was destined for us by Christ Jesus. What matters most is not what had passed but what is ahead, taking a firm hold of it, remaining strong in it, rejoicing in it, testifying of it, making progress in it, and living in the harvest that it will always produce. You can take control of that by concentrating on what matters now; if you are saved, then God had given you the grace by the power of His Spirit to make the needed progress towards the future He had for you.
