THIS CAPTIVITY MUST END, DEAR LORD (2)

Every form of captivity possesses the capacity to inflict a spiritual, physical, financial, material and social setback and breakdown of everything in our lives. It is the major source of hindrances, disturbance, sadness, fear, loneliness, subjectivity, lack, failure, and wickedness that we often see and experience in our lives and that of others. It is very evident that captivity is wickedness and it is ungodly despite what you do in life. Satan hides behind every form of captivities, giving it a name that is confusing to us while their operations are visible and their results are open for all to see and to know that we are understand captivity. When Satan wants to take anyone into any form of captivity, or any family, marriage, finances, income or anything else, he comes under the cover of a mask; he covers his ways and intent with a mask, he masks his name and allows you to wonder in thoughts and imaginations to what is going on in your life.

When the children of Israel first went into Egypt, it was not as captives, but as people who had found a relieve to hunger; people who had found a place of rest, people who had secured for themselves a hope of not starving to death, people who had seen what they were looking for in life, and people who are assured of constant supply of basic things in life. Though by God’s plans, Joseph had been there to make life easy for them but despite that, Egypt was not a place they should in any way call home and a place they should have stayed for that long. Unknown to the children of Israel in the land was that God had destined Egypt to be a place of temporal relieve, not a place of permanent stay, a place of temporal freedom not a place of permanent freedom and a place that will open their eyes to see the need for a savior and redeemer in their God.

How do you we know we are under captivity? When who we are, what we are, and what we are going through in our daily experiences does not tally with the words of God, His plans and His desires for our lives. When we on the contrary side of what He had destined. Those are the eye openers and the things we look for, and we can see them, feel them, and know them in our lives. When the children of Israel started experiencing afflictions and were oppressed by the people after many years of seeming comfort in Egypt, their eye was open to their pains and they remembered their God and cried for help. This is what God said to Moses, describing what He saw in them and heard from them in Egypt. “The Lord said, I have in fact seen the affliction, suffering, desolation of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, oppressors; for I know their pain and suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a land that is good and spacious, to a land flowing with milk and honey a land of plenty to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite. Now, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me; and I have also seen how the Egyptians oppress them.” Exodus 3:7-9. God saw their suffering and afflictions, He heard their cries for help and He sent Moses to accomplish His desires and plans for their lives.

God will hear you, He will hear your prayers and cries, He will act and He will take that captivity away. He will not send Moses, but He had sent Jesus Christ, and Christ will accomplish His plans and His desires in your life. He will beak every yoke, He will cut every chain, and He will set you completely free. “ So Jesus said again, I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I am the Door for the sheep leading to life. All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the true sheep did not hear them.  I am the Door; anyone who enters through Me will be saved and will live forever, and will go in and out freely, and find pasture, spiritual security. The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance to the full, till it overflows. I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His own life for the sheep.” John 10:7-11. Prayer Request Click here
