OH FATHER, THERE ARE BATTLES IN MY MIND (II)

When one is disturbed in any form, either internally, externally or emotionally the will definitely be a battle to fight in the mind; when ideas are not bearing expected fruits after long periods of consistent and diligent application, there will be a battle to fight in the mind; when the strength of our labor fails to be joyful and rewarding, there will be a battle to fight in the mind; when relationships are difficult to keep after giving in our very best, there will a battle that will engage our mind; when marriages are unstable and all attempts to have stability are fruitless, there will be a battle in our mind to fight; when barrenness becomes an uncomfortable issue in our heart and affecting our marriage, there will be battle in our mind to address; when meeting personal and family needs seems a mirage, there will be a battle to fight in our mind; when stability in family matters are not forthcoming after every necessary action to seek peace, there will be a battle in our mind; when job search and job security becomes a major issue in our lives after years of education and training, prayers and waiting. There will be battle in our mind; when our children are not doing as expected after investing in their lives, we will have several battles in our mind; when promises are delayed unnecessarily, with or without cogent excuses, there will be battles in our mind; when we cannot see our dreams in the physical, there will be battles in our mind; when we cannot meet up with our needs even with the pay we received, there will be battle in our mind; when our juniors become our bosses and leaders, there will be battle in our mind; when expectations are never achieved, when the days of our fulfillment are always shifted forward, there will be a battle to fight in our mind; when sickness and ill health takes hold of us and medications and healing prayers seems not to work, there will be a battle in our mind to fight and when conception becomes a problem, we will have battles in our mind. When the wicked are all around you and even have access to your home, children, marriage, finance and spouse, there will definitely be battles in our mind.

The devil is fighting to control our mind by manipulating our daily activities; creating issues we never thought will exist and never thought will pose a problem to us. He is busy searching for his next victim, searching for his next action and searching for the instrument of affliction to use against the children of the living God. The devil is a destroyer of that which is good in the lives of the children of God; he is a destroyer of that which is acceptable by our Lord and savior Jesus Christ; he is a destroyer of life, hope, dreams and godly desires. He is a destroyer of that which is morally acceptable in the scriptures and God’s standard; the devil is seeking whom to corrupt in his ways, pollute with his delicacies, render ineffective by his shameful schemes, render unsuccessful even in their very best; render unaccomplished despite doing the best with all sincerity and strength; he is looking for the best to turn to the worst; he is looking for the honorable to dishonor; he is looking for the peaceful to give trouble and he is looking for those with the holy seal of God to cause to cry and suffer. That failure to secure a life partner is not ordinary; that unending battle to settle with your spouse is not ordinary; that consistent failure is not ordinary; that fear of the unknown is not ordinary; that unfounded shame is not ordinary; but God will give us victory: “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the appropriate time, casting all your cares on Him, for He cares about you. Be sober, be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, be firm in your faith against his attack, rooted, established, immovable, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being experienced by your brothers and sisters throughout the world. After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His own eternal glory in Christ, will Himself complete, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” 1 Peter5:6-10.
