OUR LORD, A REFUGE FROM THE STORMS (1)

“My grace is sufficient for you”. The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.” 2 Corinthians 12:9; Nahum 1:7. Trust is required, trust matters and faith in His word is paramount. That is God, that is His plans, His word, and His promise. This raging and surging storm will not take you; it will not take what belongs to you; it will not take what God had given you freely; it will not take what you have labored for, and it will not destroy your faith and confidence in the Almighty God. His grace can keep and will elevate; it strengthens and protects; it keeps hope alive and active, and by that same grace we, you, will overcome the storm and whatever will come with it. There is nothing impossible with Him and no one believes will be left behind when and where His grace is working and effective. God told Paul the availability of grace when Paul told God about his sickness in prayers.

God will accomplish all His plans for you irrespective of the situation and your location. He will turn mighty cities into heaps of ruins, cities with strong walls into rubble, beautiful palaces will disappear and will never be rebuilt, but you will stand strong. Strong nations who fear God will declare His glory; ruthless nations will fear Him. He is a tower of refuge to the poor, a tower of refuge to the needy in distress. He is a refuge from the storm and a shelter from the heat, the oppressive acts of ruthless people are like a storm beating against a wall, like the relentless heat of the desert. He will silence the roar of foreign nations against you. As the shade of cloud cools relentless heat, so the boastful songs of ruthless things will be stilled. The Lord will spread a wonderful feast for all the people of the world, it will be a delicious banquet. He will remove the cloud of gloom, the shadow of death that hangs over the earth. He will swallow up death forever, He will wipe away all tears. He will remove forever all insults and mockery, all failure and fear, all humiliations. The Lord has spoken and the people will proclaim it. You will testify of Him, you will say, this is our God, we are His people, we trusted in Him, and He saved us.

His refuge will bring salvation, safety, healing, restoration, defense, direction, and peace. For the Lord’s hand of blessing will rest on us. Evil will be crushed down and left to rot. God will push down evil as a swimmer pushes down water with his hands. He will end their pride and all their evil works. The high walls of evil will be demolished, and God will liberate you by His power. I want you to know that God is always there for you irrespective of the situation. He is a shelter, a safe place for those who put their trust in Him in hardship, distress, anxiety, or in any discomfort. He will provide safety from any difficultly that may come your way. “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord have never forsaken those who seek you.” Psalms 9:9-10

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; He lifts His voice, the earth melts. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations He has brought on the earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; He burns the shields with fire. He says, be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” Psalms 46:1-11

“O Lord, I will honor and praise your name, for you are my God. You do such wonderful things. You planned them long ago, and now you have accomplished them.” Isaiah 45:1-2. Christ Jesus gave us a promise that He would be with us to the very end of the age. For prayers, Click here
