THE BATTLE AND THE WEAPON (2)

Beware, you are fighting a battle which the devil does not want you to know about or think about and he is out to defeat you, force you to surrender, force you to compromise, or force you to give up living the righteous life of Christ. Satan does not want or expect you to fight him back, but God said you should because your destiny in Christ Jesus and your good rewards from God are at stake in the battle, and the devil wants to stop them by defeating you. What God wants for you, had destined for you, and had called you to be in this life is also at stake. In fighting you, the devil wants you to stop obeying and following the words and plans of God which quickens God’s promised rewards and blessings, Satan wants you to fail and remain a failure, He wants you to be confused and to continue in endless confusion and in unfulfilled dreams, he wants you to fear him by what he is consistently doing against you, your dreams, your marriage, children, job, spouse, and against your good desires.

Satan does not want you to be aware that you are in a battle with him, but you have to beware so that he does not take undue advantage of your ignorance and force you to a willing submission or compromise. We read “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us, for we are not ignorant of his devices” 2 Corinthians 2:11. Satan wants you to be and to remain ignorant of his devices against you in the battle, he wants you not to be aware that you are being watched and targeted by him in order to stop what God had planned and destined for you. Do not be unaware that you are in a spiritual and physical battle with the devil for the destiny that God had destined for you to have in this very life that God had given to you. We fight numerous battles every day and everywhere, some are seen and known while many are not seen and are unknown but they exist, and it is very certain, in every battle for God’s supremacy in your life, in your family, in your profession and job, in your marriage and business, in your home and possession, God had not scheduled you to be defeated irrespective of the fierceness, the weapons, and the duration of the battle.

David did not go to the war front to fight a war, he went to see his brothers and to bring words to his father as instructed, in the battlefront, he saw his brothers and also saw Goliath the champion and was compelled in his spirit to fight against that Goliath and not to fight in the war. David singled out whom to fight against - Goliath, not the entire armies of the Philistines. Unknown to David, that was a battle for his destiny, that was the battle to confirm his anointing as king, that was the battle to announce him and expose him to the admiration and acceptance of the people, and that was the fight that will lift him and his family out of every form of poverty, shame, humiliation, and servitude. David did not enroll in the military and did not request to do so before fighting but he had to fight the Goliath who was before him that very moment; he was not trained to carry ammunition of war but God had trained him through faith in His name and power and through adversities of life in the forest with the sheep. David did not request for a time to train or for some trained military personal to back him up, he only trusted God by faith that God was with him and had trained him for what was before him. And he said:-

“He said to David, am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. Come here, he said, and I’ll give your flesh to the birds and the wild animals. David said to the Philistine, you come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” 1 Samuel 17:43-47.
