THE CROSS, THE POWER

“For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin” Romans 6:5-6

The ultimate joy of believers lies at the power of the cross of Jesus Christ. There is no other cross as powerful, as sufficient and as liberating as the cross were Christ Jesus hung on the day He was crucified. The power of that Cross is everlasting and is the source of every other power that will ever liberate man from sin and set such forth for eternity with God the Father in heaven. It is the only sources of power that brings down every other power that is against the will, the things and purpose of God on earth and in the lives of men. When we voluntarily surrender to the power of the cross of Jesus Christ, we have the power we deserve to live a victorious life on earth despite the activities of the devil against us. Without the power of the cross, preaching, prayers, praise, and godliness is of no effect. The Cross makes our work effective and productive and the devil will forever dread the power of that cross.  The power of the cross makes the difference.

“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God”. 1 Corinthians 1:18

The best and most appropriate place where the dilapidating effect of sin and sin itself is adequately defeated is at the cross. At the cross all powers bow, our sins purged, His blood completely purred out for our redemption and our hope fully restored.  At the cross, Christ paid the ultimate price for our sin and total freedom.

At His trial, a criminal (Barabbas) was freed and released while Christ was condemned without option. On the cross, a condemned criminal facing his rightful punishment was given eternal hope beyond his pains for eternal life. At the cross, there is hope for the living and all who died in Christ Jesus.

Because of the cross and the word of God, we can confidently declare, every sinner who by grace will look to the cross in faith shall live. His sins are forgiven by grace alone in Christ Jesus. At the cross all sorrows are turn to joy and all lost hopes are restored to live. The cross gives a complete new life to all believers.

In the time of Moses, it was a serpent on the pole that heals; “And the Lord said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived”.  Numbers 21:8

In our time, it is the cross where Christ hung that heals; open the door for our victory and gives eternal life with joy here on earth and after. “But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, the just shall live by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith”. Galatians 3:11-14

The power of the cross opens the door for the flow of the blessing of Abraham, took all fears and guilt away. At the cross, Christ took our weakness and gave us His strength.  The cross is our joy.  King David said “For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling”. Psalms 116:8.   HAPPY EASTER
