“Then Hannah prayed; my heart rejoices in the Lord, the Lord has made me strong. Now I have an answer for my enemies; I rejoice because you rescued me. No one is holy like the Lord, there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God. Stop acting so proud and haughty. Don’t speak with such arrogance. For the Lord is a God who knows what you have done; he will judge your actions. The bow of the mighty is now broken, and those who stumbled are now strong. Those who were well fed are now starving, and those who were starving are now full. The childless woman now has seven children, and the woman with many children wastes away. The Lord gives both death and life; he brings some down to the grave but raises others up. The Lord makes some poor and others rich; he brings some down and lifts others up. He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor. For all the earth is the Lord’s and he has set the world in order. He will protect his faithful ones, but the wicked will disappear in darkness. No one will succeed by strength alone. Those who fight against the Lord will be shattered. He thunders against them from heaven; the Lord judges throughout the earth. He gives power to his king; he increases the strength of his anointed one.” 1 Samuel 2:1-10

Did you know that your words, your dreams, your expectations, your views and everything about you will change when God begin doing something new in you? That was the case of Hannah in the passage above after years of marriage, years of humiliations, insults, loneliness, prayers, and expectations for a child. New things will change all things in and around you and replace old things in and around you. It was a joyful thing for Hannah after years of waiting, prayers, trusting and faithful submission to God and God did not fail her. Your desires may have seemed impossible or too difficult or too big after years of prayers, struggles, and pains, but there is nothing too big or too difficult for God to do. Those words of Hannah shows a great deal of joy and rejoicing and affirmations of who and what God can and is doing. Those words came after God had given her seven sons when she only asked for one. These are the things she revealed thereafter:

1. My heart rejoices – she was sad before; 2. My strength is lifted up – she was physically weak; 3. My mouth has opened wide to speak boldly against my enemies – she was silent before her enemies because of her barrenness; 4. I rejoice in Your salvation – though she had been saved, she was sad to express it;5. The bows of the mighty are broken – the things used by her enemies to destroy her spirit and flesh had been destroyed; 6. those who have stumbled equip themselves with strength – she was prepared for a new life; 7. Those who were full hire themselves out for bread – preparation without God will result in burnout; 8. those who were hungry cease to hunger – God provided her desires and took her hunger away. 9. Even the barren woman gives birth to seven – testifying to her new abundance. 10. He brings down to the grave and raises up from the grave – the power of God to do all things. 11. The Lord makes poor and makes rich – there is no situation that God cannot change for those who put their trust in Him and go to Him for their needs in prayers; 12. He brings low and He lifts up – the power of God to do all that He wants; 13. He raises up the poor from the dust – there is no situation that God cannot bring a transformation, a change, or a blessing. Do not condemn yourself because of your situation, God can still do something new. 14. He lifts up the needy from the ash heap to make them sit with nobles, and inherit a seat of honor and glory – when God lift you up from where you are right now, He has a better and higher place for you, a place you will glorify His name and praise His glory; 15. He guards the feet of His faithful ones – He ensures their safety, protection, and their blessings, 16.  Man shall not prevail by might. 17. The adversaries of the Lord will be broken to pieces; 18. He will exalt the strength of His anointed. Prayer Request Click here
