MY TRUE IDENTITY

The word of God encourages every Christian to do whatever is scripturally good and acceptable over and over again without stopping. Always endeavor to be identified with good works at all times irrespective of the circumstances and not evil, let your obedience and submissiveness to God identify you and not stubbornness; let peace identify you and not annoyance and anger. Let faith in the word of God identify you not fate. Our God is known by His goodness to man, His gift of salvation on the cross at Calvary; He is nothing else but good to all men in all generation. And we are commanded to be like our God. Do not be afraid of doing what is good, right and acceptable before God with all you might. You will soon be identified and rewarded with them.

Our God is never tired loving, never tired of healing, never tired helping, never tired making a way of escape even in the very worst situation, and never tired blessing you. Those good things you keep doing will soon take over your life and situations. Afflictions are not meant to last forever. The devil is afraid when you consistently do what is right because he knows those good things will soon overtake his evil intent for your life.

In Acts 9:36-41, we read of Dorcas who was identified by her good works and was restored back to life, “Now there was at Joppa a disciple [a woman] named [in Aramaic] Tabitha, which [in Greek] means Dorcas. She was abounding in good deeds and acts of charity.  About that time she fell sick and died, and when they had cleansed her, they laid [her] in an upper room. Since Lydda was near Joppa [however], the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him begging him, Do come to us without delay. So Peter [immediately] rose and accompanied them. And when he had arrived, they took him to the upper room. All the widows stood around him, crying and displaying undershirts (tunics) and [other] garments such as Dorcas was accustomed to make while she was with them. But Peter put them all out [of the room] and knelt down and prayed; then turning to the body he said, Tabitha, get up! And she opened her eyes; and when she saw Peter, she raised herself and sat upright. And he gave her his hand and lifted her up. Then calling in God’s people and the widows, he presented her to them alive.”

Her good work identified her and earned her a recommendation, restored her from the captivity of the death, and mightily restored the joy of others with her. Your good works may not be recognized by men now, but God will never forget them. Men may not accept your person now, but God will accept you in due time. It might be painful, but keep doing them; the rewards are coming in a refreshingly joyful time if you are consistent. Never stop doing what is good and acceptable. God want to identify you with them.

What you give yourself to do now is powerful and rewarding in times of need. The devil will never deliberately stop you from doing what he knows will destroy you except you resist him through prayers and deliberate actions. He will always seek to encourage you and close your eyes from seeing its destructive effect, close your ears from hearing things that will keep you away from doing wrong, will keep you closer to friends with wrong intentions; but thanks be to God, his time is over in our lives. The devil will always seeks to replaces good things with evil and we must stand to resist him.

Peter never stopped walking in obedience and one day His obedience paid off mightily when he met with Christ Jesus. “And Simon (Peter) answered, Master, we toiled all night exhaustingly and caught nothing [in our nets]. But on the ground of Your word, I will lower the nets [again]. And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish--” Luke 5:5-6

Goodness is the hallmark of true Christianity, and consistency is the word and action that brings rewards. We will continue praying because it is our weapon of victory.
