MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER JUDGMENT

Post date: Jun 29, 2012 6:57:49 AM

In all circumstances, in all situations, in all of human involvement, and in all nations, irrespective of gender, language, wealth and color, God’s mercies always triumphs over all forms of evil, weakness, wickedness, sickness, and judgment. Seeking God’s mercy is never a sign of failure or foolishness as some may assume, but a sign of reliance, conviction, and trust in God. Whatever we do, wherever we are, no matter our status, there will always be a time we find ourselves incapable and insufficient, a time that what we have cannot take us to the next level, and friends cannot understand our predicaments, talk-less of granting the permanent relief necessary. There will always be a time in life, where our strength, wisdom, wealth and knowledge will never be sufficient in certain things and in such occasions, who and what we turn to matters.

We have seen nations turn to their strategic reserves, friends, neighbors and even foes for help in their difficulties, but yet the problem still persist. Today all nations are under one difficulty or the other; the same also is true of individual. Because of this, many have turned to uncertain sources for strength, many have turn to friends, and many have turn to their reserves. The more the challenges we face, the more we are exposed to uncertainties, the more our resources are depleted and the more help we need. Challenges will never cease, but we can always be victorious in them all. The very best weapon to overcoming them all is never in our strength or knowledge, but in the unending mercies of God working in our lives when we ask by faith.

The devil is not waiting until you have done something wrong, or are declared guilty before challenging you every day in everything. Whether you have done right or wrong, be bold and wise to ask God for His mercies each day in every situation. Even the thief at the cross, who knew he was guilty of a crime, was bold enough to ask for mercy and did receive instantly. How about you who are saved by His blood and are innocent before God? Do not be like the other thief. You can receive God’s mercy right now. “Then he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when You come in Your kingly glory And He answered him, Truly I tell you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise” Luke 23:42-43. Is that not amazing?

Jesus Christ gave a parable about people who trusted in themselves, and how mercy triumphs in the life of a person. He said; “Two men went up into the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee took his stand ostentatiously and began to pray thus before and with himself: God, I thank You that I am not like the rest of men, extortioners (robbers), swindlers [unrighteous in heart and life], adulterers or even like this tax collector here. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I gain. But the tax collector, [merely] standing at a distance, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but kept striking his breast, saying, O God, be favorable (be gracious, be merciful) to me, the especially wicked sinner that I am. I tell you, this man went down to his home justified (forgiven and made upright and in right standing with God), rather than the other man; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted” Luke 18:10-14. Asking and trusting in God’s mercies rather than the justification of yourself and actions can make the difference you deserve right now. Despite your strength, personality, wealth and knowledge, ask for God’s mercy. All other things may fail you in times of need, but God’s mercy will never fail you. Jeremiah said; “This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness” Lam 3:21-23 His mercy will always triumph irrespective of the situation when you ask for it. If the thief who was guilty and convicted and the publican who was also guilty of the things mentioned by the Pharisee did receive mercy by asking, then you, who is saved and washed in His blood, should also receive mercy right now. This is your day of triumph in that situation.  Ask for mercy now.
