HELPLESS BUT HOPEFUL

“When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him”. Psalm 126:1-6

Though joblessness may persist and people are helpless, I am still hopeful.  Though marriage may be delay and people are helpless, I am still hopeful.  Though expected favor may fail, I am still hopeful. Though lack may persist and people begin doing things again their ethics, I am still hopeful, though pains and unexplained conditions may persist, I am still hopeful.  Though weakness, discouragement, disappointment, delays and denials may persist. I am still hopeful.  Though affliction is ongoing and loneliness overwhelming, I am still hopeful. Though more and more people are helpless, I am very hopeful.  The God that delivered Israel from all their afflictions is also the God I serve today; He will deliver you.

The fact that lies, corruption, oppression, wickedness, witchcraft, inhuman actions and falsehood are still striving in our society today despite the increase in knowledge about the importance of humanity, despite all the helplessness of the vulnerable victims, I urge everyone to remain hopeful.

The evil effects of such actions are no secret in our societies again and you don’t have to look too far to see them, but despite their helplessness I am still hopeful. God will not abandon the hopeful though helpless

Though people seem to be without a better alternative but to helplessly live in such condition, I am still hopeful that righteousness will exalts God’s people irrespective of the passage of time.

There are so many helpless and pathetic situations in the world today, people are plugged daily into mischief and misfortune they never expected and dream of; but despite the devastation of the devil in the lives of men and despite his vicious encroachment into innocent lives, despite the helpless situations people are being forced to live with, I am still hopeful that the salvation of our Lord is not in vain.

I have seen kings and queens, children of the most high God go unrecognized, work unrewarded and oppressed because of their belief and faith, some go on foot while servants ride on horses. Though I am helpless, I am very hopeful that the portion of the righteous will be given to them.

“I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth” Ecclesiastes 10:7

I have seen the wicked in great wealth and the righteous begging bread; though helpless, I am still hopeful in God’s redemptive power.

I have seen the wicked forcefully deprive the righteous of their rights and the expectation of the wicked fulfilled against the righteous; though they might be helpless, I am very hopeful that the portion of the righteous will be granted by the Lord.  “The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom. The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.” Proverbs 10:22-25

Every helpless situation will not remain forever. Where there is hope there is every possibility of change. Keep hope in Christ alive even when helpless. Invest in hope, sacrifice for hope, pray with faith, labor in hope, wait in hope. Delays are never permanent. Our God is able to do all things, change all situations and comfort every one who waits hopefully on Him.

Where hope persists, change is eminent
