"AN ANGEL OF THE GOD I SERVE STOOD BEFORE ME"

Post date: Jul 13, 2017 3:42:33 AM

For this very night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood before me and said, stop being afraid, Paul, you must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has given you the lives of all those who are sailing with you, and it was done as God had said. Whatever you may be passing through, irrespective of the fact that others around you had no hope again and you are also affected by that same hopeless situation, God will speak to your situation, He will send His angel to confirm His word to you and He will do exactly as it had been written in His Holy Scriptures concerning you. Paul was a true believer in the Jewish God; an apostle of Jesus Christ; and a committed follower of all His principles; before becoming a disciple, He was a successful lawyer, a successful prosecutor, an ardent observer and follower of the Jewish tradition and religious laws and the laws of the land he belongs; he was loved and by his people, strongly supported by his people and those in authority; he was followed by a large number by those who supported his religious views and actions and ways of life. Before becoming follower of Jesus Christ, Paul was very successful in his profession, gained recognition above his equals in the same profession, had large accepted and was celebrated; made much gain in his profession and other things of interest to him, but when he became a follower of Jesus Christ, his pursuit in life changed and in one of his new life exploits, Paul experienced something new which he never expected, a life-threatening tempest in the sea that made all the people in the boat to lost hope of survival, in that confusion, fear, and uncertainty, Paul who was led by the Spirit of the Living God stood up and spoke the word of God to them confidently. This was the narrative:

“But soon afterward a violent wind, called Euraquilo a tempestuous windstorm like a typhoon, came rushing down from the island;  and when the ship was caught in it and could not head against the wind to gain stability, we gave up and letting her drift were driven along. We ran under the shelter of a small island called Clauda, and with great difficulty, we were able to get the ship’s skiff on the deck and secure it. After hoisting the skiff on board, they used support lines for trapping to undergird and brace the ship’s hull; and fearing that they might run aground on the shallows of Syrtis, they let down the sea anchor and lowered the sails and were driven along backward with the bow into the wind. On the next day, as we were being violently tossed about by the storm and taking on water, they began to jettison the cargo; and on the third day, they threw the ship’s tackle overboard with their own hands to further reduce the weight. Since neither sun nor stars appeared for many days, and no small storm kept raging about us, from then on all hope of our being saved was growing worse and worse and gradually abandoned. After they had gone a long time without food because of seasickness and stress, Paul stood up before them and said, Men, you should have followed my advice and should not have set sail from Crete, and brought on this damage and loss. But even now I urge you to keep up your courage and be in good spirits because there will be no loss of life among you, but only loss of the ship. For this very night, an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood before me, and said, stop being afraid, Paul. You must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has given you the lives of all those who are sailing with you. So keep up your courage, men, for I believe God and have complete confidence in Him that it will turn out exactly as I have been told.” Acts 27:14-25. In the midst of the confusion, fear, and uncertainty, Paul said with all confidence that irrespective of what will ever happen, everyone in the boat with him will be saved as God had said. I have that same confidence that it will certainly be as God had said and nothing less concerning you irrespective of whatever will happen or be happening. Nothing will stop you, not even the often disappointed and unpleasant delays. Your salvation is precious before God and your fulfillment is a priority before Him; you will end this journey joyfully.
