Fear will ruin you, but expectations of God faithful promises will keep and make you. Fear will destroy your life, but the expectations of God’s blessings will give you hope, keep you hopeful, and will preserve your life; Fear will make you physically weak, physically discouraged, and frustrated by everyone and everything, but expectations based on the true promises of God for your life will definitely strengthen you, and will build your courage to persevere longer. Fear will force to turn back from following God, following His words, following your dreams, strongly desiring the very best, and it will stop you from praying, but expectations based on the power and ability and promises of God to do all things will give you the courage to keep following Christ Jesus, keep praying even stronger in His name, keep dreaming and trusting and hoping for your success irrespective of the prevailing situation and your location.

It was expectations after hearing the words and promises of God that made Abraham believe God; it was expectation that kept Abraham active and hopeful till the day he heard and saw his wife Sarah pregnant with a child God promised despite the years of delays and loss of hope by Sarah and his household. It was expectations that kept Abraham moving forward despite not knowing where he was going but looking for a place with a foundation that God will make to call home for himself and his family. It was expectation on the word of God that made Abraham seek and maintain peace with Lot and others on his journey with God. It was expectation that made Abraham trust God absolutely and obey God absolutely even to the pint of offering his only son Isaac as a sacrifice. Beside your hearing the word of God, after believing in His word thereafter, after receiving His love and power through salvation, and after walking with Him for so long, what are your expectations? Your expectations can define your future, it will define your destiny, and it can define your joy for living today and in the days and years to come. Your expectations can definitely change you, it can change your direction, it can change your location, it can and will change your dreams, and it can give strength beyond what you see, hear and experience in life. It can, and will give you courage and strength irrespective of the fears and works of the wicked against you, it can keep and take you through all the adversities of life. “ My son, if thine heart be wise, my heart shall rejoice, even mine. Yea, my reins shall rejoice, when thy lips speak right things. Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long. For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off. Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way.” Proverbs 23:15-19

Irrespective of the troubles, the afflictions, the torture, the denials, the shame, the humiliations, the disappointments and any form of insult from anyone at any time or place, do not let go of that your expectations in Christ Jesus and in His words; do not turn your back on Him, do not forget or refuse His fellowship, companion, and words; do not forget to pray in His name and believe in His power; do not take your trust away from His word and from His power. Your life, this very one, will be a blessing to others. God will direct, guide, maintain and make a way to bring you to the place where you will be fulfilled and glorify His name as He did for Abraham. Abraham was a person like you and he believed God absolutely, never in any way for any reason took his expectations away from the words and promises that God gave him, never refrain his heart, steps or regret in his actions to follow, and trust God to fulfill His words and promises, and God did not disappoint him.
