“If Mordecai, before whom you have begun to fall, is of Jewish descent, you will not prevail against him but will surely fall before him.” Esther 6:13. Mordecai was not destroyed by Haman despite Haman's high position, connections to the king and the people, despite his wicked intent, his preparations, his consultations and approval by his wife, family, and friends, and despite his popularity and his readiness. Haman had the means to do whatever he wanted, but unknown to him, God was with Mordecai, God was about to change things, God was about to honor His name in the life of Mordecai and preserve the Jews from Haman’s wicked plots of destruction. Did you know salvation will work for you despite the plots of the evil? Did you know God is with you and He will deliver you from the afflictions, from hatred and from being destroyed by adversities and strong men with wickedness in their heart against you? You were bought with a price by Christ Jesus, redeemed by His blood, and preserved by His word. No enchantment, no evil plan, no wicked hand shall touch you and remain unpunished.

“Then King Ahasuerus, Xerxes asked Queen Esther, who is he, and where is he, who dares to do such a thing? Esther said an adversary and an enemy is Haman, this evil man. Then Haman became terrified before the king and queen.  Then in his fury, the king stood up from drinking wine and went into the palace garden to decide what he should do, but Haman stayed to plead for his life from Queen Esther, for he saw that harm had been determined against him by the king. When the king returned from the palace garden to the place where they were drinking wine, Haman was falling on the couch where Esther was. Then the king said, will he even attempt to assault the queen with me in the palace? As the king spoke those words, the servants covered Haman’s face in preparation for execution. Then Harbonah, one of the eunuchs serving the king said, now look, there are gallows fifty cubits high standing at Haman’s house, which Haman made for Mordecai, whose good warning saved the king. And the king said, hang him on it. So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the king’s anger subsided.” Esther 7:5-10

In answering, God rewards in ways beyond the words of prayer and beyond the imaginations of the heart. Those waiting to see, they will see; those waiting to hear, they  will hear; those waiting to celebrate with you, they will do so. Despite all the persecutions against Mordecai, all of the insults, all the humiliations, and all the pains that Mordecai received, suffered, and endured, he had the courage to stand and continue in his belief in God, expecting His power to help him; he had courage to still keep his trust in God despite knowing and seeing the plans and preparations of Haman against him. And God in His love and power did not disappoint Mordecai, He will not disappoint you in any way. As He answered Mordecai, He will answer you, as He honored Mordecai, He will honor you; as He lifted Mordecai up from where he was, so will He lift you up from where you are right now; as He established Mordecai thereafter, so will He establish you also. He did not fail and He will not fail. Mordecai's faith was rewarded, his patience was rewarded, his hope was rewarded, his belief was rewarded, and his refusal to give up was rewarded.
