DEAR GOD, WHY ME?

Post date: May 14, 2014 4:00:43 AM

Despite those daily chilling experiences, the bitter harmful and hateful situations, the seeming defeats and shame from the workers of evil against you, your family members, your job, and the enemies of those who trust in the living God; despite the passing away of days and your precious years in waiting endlessly and praying ceaselessly to God, be very courageous brethren, your God who will forever remain the only Almighty is still alive, is still very active in the affairs of those who trust in Him; He is still capable and willing to take you through whatever situation you are in, and whatever experience you are facing in this very life. He had not abandoned you because of those things, and had not forgotten you, He is not too busy attending to other things.

Asking such question is not a sign of weakness neither is it a sign of departure from the faith, it is a sign of seeming frustration after praying and trusting Him and yet bad things still happen. Definitely, you have not done anything wrong by asking the lord why, He is not angry with you for asking, but you should be prepared for the answer when it comes.

There is no situation in your life that God is not aware of, none will ever happen behind Him and there is none that He is not able to avert or save you from. When He permits a thing, there is something good to derive from such. Hold your peace, God is still with you and will surely give you what He had destined even in the presence of this trouble. “For no temptation, no trial, no matter how it comes or where it leads, has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man. But God is faithful, to His Word and to His compassionate nature, and He can be trusted not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will always also provide the way out, the means of escape to a landing place, that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

I have been in several situations that compelled me to ask God why, but the end had been more excellent than I thought initially. Many of us have been in such several times and many are there right now and are asking God that same question. My prayer for you is that God will give you total freedom, take over and above, give you victory and surprise you with the goodness that will take away the intended disgrace from the devil.

It is true that when we experience certain difficulties in life, when we discover our unintentional mistake in our god will, when our good deeds turns to hurt us, when things we know quite well and trust turn out to be false, then we ask ourselves, ask God and others ‘why me’. Questioning is one of the ways to discovery and recovery; through questions, we receive instructions and corrections, and when we give our heart, mind and actions to the answers, we receive restoration to the path we had missed and instructions on how we can achieve God’s goals for our lives.

One of the ill effects of questioning is asking only for the sake of knowledge and not the benefit of receiving instructions and corrections. Without receiving instructions, we are bound to make the same mistake again. God’s thought for you is that you will receive the instructions that will lead to the recovery and restoration of all that you have lost and missed. Job must have asked this same question in his time and days of trouble. As God restored him, so will He restore you; as He instructed him, so will He instruct you, as He kept him, so will He keep you.

This is God’s word of restoration for you. “I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captive.” Jeremiah 29:14.
