FATHER CALM THIS STORM

Storms are never desired but they will come; they are never friendly in actions but we will have to live through them when they come; it might try to destroy us and what we have but we will overcome through Christ our Lord; it may leave a mark that is difficult to forget or erase, but God will help us to forget and erase them with a new blessing that will be bigger and better than the one destroyed by the storm. Storms are always disastrous, destructive and always leave trails of pains and sorrowful memories, but in every physical or spiritual storm in our lives as Children of the living God, there will surely be a way out for us from the lord. The intent of the storm is to cause us harm but it will not end that way through the grace we have in Christ our Lord. Because God is involved in our life, our day of storm will not be our day and time of total destruction but a day and time of a new beginning for something better and more profound than ever before. You may be in one those days where the boat of your life is facing some severe storms and you do not know what next to do after exhausting your very best effort in trying to calm the storm. It is a fact that the storms of life are getting bigger, troublesome and worrisome, but in all of these storms, the God we serve will give us victory.

This is what happened to Jesus Christ and His disciples as they followed Him: “Now on one of those days Jesus and His disciples got into a boat, and He said to them, let us cross over to the other side of the lake, Sea of Galilee. So they set out. But as they were sailing, He fell asleep. And a fierce gale of wind swept down as if through a wind tunnel on the lake, and they began to be swamped, and were in great danger. They came to Jesus and woke Him, saying, Master, Master, we are about to die. He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging, violent waves, and they ceased, and it became calm, a perfect peacefulness. And He said to them, where is your faith, your confidence in Me? They were afraid and astonished, saying to one another, who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the sea, and they obey Him?” Luke 8:22-25.

There is s giant inside your life despite the storms that are against you and the fears in your heart of how the storm will end and what the storm may do to your life. I want you to know that all storms of life are temporal, they do not just happen, they are driven by something and they are sustained by something. In dealing with the storm, Christ Jesus dealt with the cause of the storm and the thing that sustained the storm. Are you ready to surrender your storms to Him? Are you ready to surrender your wisdom to Him? Are you ready to take off your hands to that His hands may be in it? Are you ready to allow Him to have His way as He may want? Are you ready to stop dictating to Him what to do? That storm may overwhelm you but it will never overwhelm Him; it may overcome you, but it will never overcome Him; it may stop you, but it will never stop Him

The last thing He did (3) was to get up, rebuked the wind and the raging violent waves with His words, and it was confirmed that the raging water and the violent wind ceased immediately and became calm and the disciples were amazed to see that happen. Did you think Jesus Christ will refuse to wake up on hearing your cry for help? Did you think He will keep silent on you and your situation? No, it is not in His character to keep silent; it is not to His advantage; He will never keep silent on you. He is ever merciful, compassionate, and ever faithful to His promises; ever loving, and ever faithful in doing what will glorify the Father in your life. What is the storm trying to overwhelm you? What is the storm that had been stubborn and fearless in your life despite your prayers? There is hope, there is help; that storm will calm; the raging waters will be still; you will overcome; there is someone to speak a word with power and with authority that the storm will hear, understand, comply and vanish as Jesus did. Christ Jesus is not leaving you defenseless. He is calming your storm right now. Click here for prayer
