NEVER LET GRACE GO

Jacob did, and never remains the same again till this very day in all things. He even had greater favor and honor thereafter despite all his past. Despite what you think are your greatest mistakes, problems, disappointments and misfortunes in life (everyone has them), remembering and regretting it did ever happen in the first instance will not do you any good. Winding, crying, refusing to let them go is one of the greatest disservice and hindrance to yourself. Despite your thoughts and fears about the greatness of past sins or disappointments, God’s mercy has not passed by you in anyway, even in this days of extreme human wickedness and uncertainties, God’s mercy is still working effectively and is available for you to take and never to let it go.

Scripture confirms the renewal of God’s grace every morning of everyday. “The faithful love of the Lord never ends His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him. The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.” Lamentation 3:22-26

The Holy Bible confirms that God’s mercy opens the doors of heaven that we may receive the pardon we need for our ugly past mistakes and regrets. Grace buries our past sins, enhances and quickens spiritual and physical changes, prevents physical and spiritual destructions, overturns guilty verdicts and all forms of human and devilish condemnations, gives second, third and even forth chances in every situation, separates us from the past and opens the door of God glory to shine upon us. Where and when love reigns, mercy has an unhindered positive effect in the life of the recipients. The God you serve is love and always full of endless mercy to everyone.

It is the endless availability of grace that gave us the salvation we have, that enables us to still have life today, gave us the joy to pray and expect answers from God, and gave us the ability to exercise faith in His word, to love according to His word and to wait on the Lord on any issue.

This is what Jacob realized one day while running from the anger of His brother Esau and truly took advantage of it in prayers and in expectation. “And Jacob was left alone, and a Man wrestled with him until daybreak. And when [the Man] saw that He did not prevail against [Jacob], He touched the hollow of his thigh; and Jacob’s thigh was put out of joint as he wrestled with Him. Then He said, Let Me go, for day is breaking. But [Jacob] said, I will not let You go unless You declare a blessing upon me.” Genesis 32:24-26

We all know the early life of Jacob, how he did wrestle with his brother’s birthright, deceived his father, and sent himself on self-exile because of the fear of being killed. But on a faithful day, while still in fear and uncertainty of the next day may be, he had an encounter with God’s grace and mercy, a door was open for him to speak and he said, though I am very fearful of my life, though my past is painful and the future is uncertain, though we have wrestled together, though I am now weak and you have dislocated my thigh, I will never let you go until you declare a blessing on me. Thank God he held on to that window of opportunity called grace and love from God, thank God he never let go that day because of shame, weakness and uncertainty. God gave him an answered that transformed him instantly, changed his name and build up his confidence to move on to his future.

That is the encounter that you will have to hold on to in life, not your past weaknesses, failures, mistakes, disappointments and sin. When grace sets into your life like it did for Jacob, God take the past and all things become new, old things will certainly give way for the new and the future will definitely be bright and will become what you look up to joyfully with all certainty every day. God has not given up on you; never let the window of grace elude you. Never let you past hold you captive, declare like Jacob, I will let you go unless you bless. For prayers Click here
