"BEING THANKFUL IS ANNOYING TO THE DEVIL”

Post date: Nov 25, 2015 11:01:01 PM

After taking a good look at himself and seeing what God had done for him, the defense, the care, the provisions, the blessings, the battles of life, the promises, the promotions, the children, the food, the plans of king Saul, the works of his enemies, King David said this to the God: “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex. Your workmanship is marvelous, how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered. I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand. And when I wake up, you are still with me.” Psalm 139:13-18

Though you may not have all of your needs, yet there are enough reasons to be thankful for in this very life; you may still have mountains to scale over in life, yet for the reason that you still have hope, you should be very thankful. You should always be thankful for the hope that is in Christ Jesus; for the hope of His blessings and provisions according to His promises and faithfulness; you should be very thankful that your tomorrow will be better than your yesterday; you should be thankful that His glory is your praise and your everyday expectations; you should be thankful for family, for the courage that is in His word for you daily, for the expectations you have in Him despite your weakness; you should be very thankful for the provision of His righteousness that enables you to have a relationship with Him and also have the victory over the devil and all the evil people seeking your downfall.

Be thankful that the sovereign God is in complete control of your affairs and afflictions. Be thankful that His love is your strength when you are overwhelmed by the condemnation of men and rejections and the unjustifiable accusations from people. Be always thankful because of His provision for your restoration, be thankful that He will never forsake or abandon you. Be thankful for His love and mercies. Be thankful because He is with you even in your down time and uptime in life. Be thankful because He had enabled you to know Him, to believe in Him, to trust in Him, to rely on Him, to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Be thankful that He had promised to answer you and despite all the delays, He will keep His promises and words and He will definitely answer your prayers far beyond your expectations.

Be thankful for the cross at Calvary and for Jesus Christ who took all of your punishment on the cross so you can be restored back to your God. be thankful for the power of the cross, the power in the blood of Jesus Christ, the power in the word of God, the power of your faith in Him, the power of His Holy Spirit in you, the power of praise and worship of His holiness, and for the power when we call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Be thankful that you will be rewarded with good things by God, be thankful that you will inherit the blessings of the righteous and you will stand before your God in heaven with all confidence and assurance in the judgement day.

God is always happy and He wants you to be happy with Him while the devil is always angry and wants you to remain angry with him; God is always peaceful and desires your peace while the devil is always in trouble and wants you to join him in his troubles; God always desires your perfect health while the devil desires you to be sick always. The devil will and is always against things that are good, divinely acceptable and excellent in the lives of the children of the living God but irrespective of his desires and works, God wants you to be happy and will ensure your happiness is fulfilled as you follow Him, rely on Him, trust in Him, believe in Him and work in obedience to His commands every day. Being always thankful to God is annoying to the devil, but there is nothing he can do than to remain in his anger because you have decided to depart from him, and will have all that is needed in this life to remain thankful to your God because that is exactly what our God expects from you despite what the devil is doing around you.
