THE GOD WHO DID IT BEFORE

“Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the back or west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb or Sinai, the mountain of God. The Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, yet was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burned. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here am I. God said, Do not come near; put your shoes off your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground. Also He said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters and oppressors; for I know their sorrows and sufferings and trials. And I have come down to deliver them out of the hand and power of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a land good and large, a land flowing with milk and honey, a land of plenty, to the place of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.” Exodus 3:1-8

The Almighty God is never afraid of what you are right now and where you are in life. He is never in any way intimidated by the evil things people say so often of you and never ashamed of your past or present sins and weaknesses. He is not going to turn back on you because you failed in your assignments or is He going to condemn you to the point of rejection because you made a mistake; He is not give up because you messed up miserably, because you acted otherwise and because you have been condemned by others. God is never following the words and thoughts of men before determining your next level of elevation and His next level of action concerning your dreams. He is going to do exactly what He said of you irrespective of your location, profession and the reasons that led you to where you are right now and doing what you are doing now.

When Moses was totally confused with his life, afraid of what Pharaoh intended to do to him; afraid that the Egyptians were seeking to revenge his killing of one of their son and the children of Israel were looking to destroy him for being the reason for their increased labor, God stood boldly before him and reminded him of what He had done before, what He can do now, and what He will next. God was very bold and blunt in His words to him, He spoke with all confidence to Moses when he was in the forest of his despair, of his anxiety nursing his fears, being quite uncertain in everything, and lonely; God reminded him of His actions before he was born, His testimonies of old in the lives of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God reminded him of what he had read in the old testaments and assured that He can do them again for Him.

Standing before God with the testimonies of His creations is one of the best ways of praising and reminding Him of your situation in truth; it shows your acknowledgment of His willingness, ability and excellence in all His actions; standing before Him with the testimonies of others is never a bad thing to do, never out of place and never old fashioned. We all know that there is nothing new before our God, if He did them before, there is every hope and assurance in me that He will do it again; if He ever did it before in the lives of others around the world, I am very confident that He will not relent in doing them again in your life and mine. The God who gave Jabez riches and wealth can do it again in you. The God who gave Sarah a child in her old age can do it again. The God who delivered the children of Israel can do the same again. The God who gave Samson strength, healed the sick, restored hopes, open impossible doors can do them again for you. The God who changed Peter, Paul, Matthew and many others for good can do the same again for you. The God who did that of others is alive and willing to do yours. For prayers, Click here
