REWARD OF KNOWLEDGE

“I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead. I want to suffer with Him, share in His death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead. I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing; forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead; I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Let us all who are spiritually mature agree on these.” Philippians 3:10-15 (NLT)

Christ Jesus wants us to truly know Him, follow Him and to derive benefits in such knowledge and actions. He does not only want us to know His name without deriving any benefit. His name is powerful we all know, but following Him sincerely is more benefiting.

Who you know matters, but what you do with who you know matters most. What you know matters, but what you do with what you know matters most. What you do matters, but what comes out of what you do matters most. Knowledge that accompanies transformation is the best knowledge to acquire and to invest in.  You can have this in knowing Christ Jesus.

Your level of investment in your knowledge of Jesus Christ determines your rewards in life.  The joy of knowing what you know and making the best use of it in your life and that of others is the joy that always gladdens the heart. But the shame of knowing much without benefiting in it is annoying. The joy of knowing people without enjoying the benefit of fellowship is foolishness.

People always sacrifice to know and also sacrifice to gain. You sacrifice to learn and you sacrifice to earn a living through what you know. The same also is in knowing Christ Jesus. No one will ever earn salvation by the perfection of any kind of work; we received receive salvation by grace and obtain our victory by Christ sacrifice on the cross. It is sweet to know that Christ has sacrifice for us all and we have to sacrifice to know Him the more.

In Philippians 3, Paul expressed his desire to know more of Christ Jesus and to benefit in such knowledge. He also expressed his willingness to sacrifice in order to fulfill his desires. Paul knew the place of self-sacrifice in achieving success and living in fulfilled desires. In the five verses of the passage above, we read how Paul used the word ‘I’ ten times to express his desires.

If you do not personalize knowledge, you will not grow in it and if you do not express knowledge you will not be known.  Christ Jesus came into the world to seek you out from the crowd. There is no situation too hard for Him to intervene and no location too remote that He cannot see you. You have to consistently seek to make a difference, when you know and follow him. Paul said ‘I learn to forget the past and press on with a focus at the reward’.  Christ suffered before and on the cross to set you free from the pains and sorrows of sin. He laid down His life on the cross to give you victory against the devil and was raised from the Dead to show you the reward of consistency

Christ Jesus wants you to make a difference. Refuse to relent, refuse to look back, and don’t allow temporary failures be your final mark in life.  To pray, wait on the Lord, praise, read and meditate on His word are worthy sacrifices to invest in. You can make it out of any situation when you continuously persist in what you know of Christ Jesus. You cannot know Christ Jesus in vain.

The reward of knowledge is that which comes with a positive transformation.
