STILL CONFIDENT

If there is any group of people who should be extra-confident in everything about life, it should be the bible believing Christians, but this is not the case we see today. We have more fretful Christians who have lost complete confidence in themselves and in their ability to wake up after a fall, keep going with focus after a disappointment, rejoice after sad news, look up after a failure and hope for the promised blessing after a denial or a delay. If you do not have that confidence in yourself about your tomorrow because of the God you belief and serve today, then you are the one who believe in God but do not trust His ability. Believers in Christ Jesus should know that nothing, no one, can determine their final destiny in life and in whatever God had enabled them to undertake when their faith in His ability is unwavering. The Almighty God has the final say in everything and I am sure He will speak well of you even in your disappointment and pains. He will perform His plans in you and in your situation without any assistance from anyone. He alone is faithful and He alone is able. The effect of disappointment had destroyed many, made many weak, sick, troubled, discouraged and self-condemned. This is not where God wants you to be.

Though not desired or prayed for, disappointment in life does not translate to God’s disapproval or unfaithfulness to your person and actions. Disappointment does not mean you are a failure, unqualified, unacceptable, though the devil will make feel that way. By virtue of God’s inherent character of unending love to all His children, He abides forever with all those who will ever trust in Him. He does not look at our weaknesses or strength to judge, but on the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, the only true source of our redemption, strength and confidence in receiving the promise. Christ Jesus is constantly interceding for you and for every thing that concerns you before our Father. God is ever faithful and will forever be for you and in all things about you.

The idea of seeking out other things to do to remain safe and protected in this world is getting a lot of people off the cliff of God’s destined assurance. This is what the scripture says; “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain” Psalms 127:1. God is keeping you for His revealed promises.

This is God’s assurance for you today, despite the disappointment by men in various ways; you have not missed your appointment with God’s destiny and promises for your life if you will continue in your confidence in His ability. Despite the failures and cries, delays and denials, lack and near success syndrome every day, God has not left you to the hands of your tormentors, He has a path He is leading you. I have seen one disappointment leading to greater blessings in life. You are not finished yet. Wait for God’s soon coming appointment, you can’t miss that.

When you feel the pains of disappointment, take the promise in this passage to heart “Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all you who remain of the house of Israel, you whom I have upheld since you were conceived, and have carried since your birth. Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you, I will sustain you and I will rescue you. – Remember the former things, those of long ago, I am God, and there is no other, I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. Isaiah 46:3-4, 9-10 (NLT)

Though the day is dark, I am still confident of tomorrow if Christ tarries. I am still confident that God is in and for you, He will sustain you, He will carry you to your next appointment, He will rescue you from the powers that hold you back, His purpose for you in all situations will stand, and disappointment will never derail your dreams and aspirations to be exactly what God had made you to be before you were born. I am still confident about my God's unwavering love for you and His ability to bless you beyond the present feelings and situation.
