WHO IS YOUR GOD, WHERE IS HE?

The devil may be asking who do you believe after being a Christian all these years? Parents, family members, colleagues, and foes may be asking that same question because of all the wrongs things they observe happening to you. Your situation may be challenging you to answer and prove who your God is and where He is with all the things afflicting you. Almost everything, everyone and everywhere is asking the same question, and you are left to wonder what is going on in your life. This is happening because you have stayed too long in one place without any meaningful progress; you have stayed too long in that shame without a sign of victory; you have been humiliated and insulted for too long by people who should never humiliate or insult you; you have failed too often; you have been without help for too long, though your expectations in Christ had not changed, yet your situations still remain the same.

Our God is not an idol that we can aspire to be like, but we can be like Christ in many ways; He is not an imagination that we can conceive in our minds, but we can fix our mind on Him; He is not the thoughts of men that we ponder how to work them out, but we can work with Him and focus our thoughts on Him; He is not a man or the other man that we can compare ourselves, but we are made like Christ Jesus in the flesh. Though we were made in the perfection of His image and likeness, we are not God and cannot assume to be one. All human beings are limited, but God is not limited by anything; He made all things and has control of all the things He made and created; He remains to be the creator of all things in the universe and the maker of the universe; He is the God of all flesh and nothing less. When challenges seek to overwhelm us we remember the promises of our God and His words. We remember there is no challenge that can defeat Him and He will and can give us the victory in all our challenges. When fear seeks to hinder us we remember His spirit in us and His words that He had not given us the spirit of fear but of sound mind. When people ask us who is our God and where is He we will reply our God is the Almighty God, the only one with the power to make things that are permanent and take away the ones that are not; we will tell them our situation is not permanent and that our change will surely come. We will tell them our “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” Numbers 23:19. We will say our God is compassionate and able and will do us good. Our God is everything the Holy Scriptures says; not Idols who are what you think at any time, without the ability to think; without a mind; cannot stand, walk or act a thought. The idol requires you think and act it out; it requires you make it what you want, what you imagine and what you think. The idol has no power and cannot retain any. It is not the good you say; it is a carving made by men; kept in the shrine made by men; instrument put together by men and fastened in the dark by men, nothing more. You cannot rise higher or stronger than the idol you make and believe, and it can do nothing to improve what you are.

“Our God is in the heavens, and he does as he wishes. Their idols are merely things of silver and gold, shaped by human hands. They have mouths but cannot speak, and eyes but cannot see. They have ears but cannot hear, and noses but cannot smell. They have hands but cannot feel, and feet but cannot walk, and throats but cannot make a sound. And those who make idols are just like them, as are all who trust in them. O Israel, trust the Lord. He is your helper and your shield. O priests, descendants of Aaron, trust the Lord. He is your helper and your shield. All you who fear the Lord, trust the Lord. He is your helper and your shield. The Lord remembers us and will bless us. He will bless the people of Israel and bless the priests, the descendants of Aaron. He will bless those who fear the Lord, both great and lowly. May the Lord richly bless both you and your children. May you be blessed by the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 115:3-15. Click here to submit prayer request
