It is good to know that every living human beings face discouragement at certain period in various ways and in various things; to some, their discouragements are often and to others they are not so often; but despite the frequency of the disappointments, they are not pleasant, they are not what we desire or wish for, they are not welcome and they always causes pains and discomfort. It is also observed that only a few are able to live through the destructive effects of disappointments to the mind, thought, body, spirit, courage, and self-esteem; only a few can change their easily from its effects; a few can handle it positively and a few had made tremendous success in their lives thereafter; facing discouragements in a hopeless situations is destructive to our mental and spiritual lives; it is bad when we think back on what we have gone through, what we have done, what we have not done and what we hope to do next and compare such with the future we work for and expect through Christ and our personal efforts; but despite the situations, I know if you could change things for the best, you would gladly do.

“And someone came to Him and said, teacher, what essentially good thing shall I do to obtain eternal life, that is, eternal salvation in the Messiah’s kingdom? Jesus answered, why are you asking Me about what is essentially good? There is only one who is essentially good; but if you wish to enter into eternal life, keep the commandments. He said to Jesus, which commandments? And Jesus answered, you shall not commit murder; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not give false testimony; honor your father and mother; and love your neighbor as yourself, that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for others. The young man said to Him, I have kept all these things from my youth; what do I still lack? Jesus answered him, if you wish to be perfect, that is, have the spiritual maturity that accompanies godly character with no moral or ethical deficiencies, go and sell what you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me, becoming My disciple, believing and trusting in Me and walking the same path of life that I walk. But when the young man heard this, he left grieving and distressed, for he owned much property and had many possessions which he treasured more than his relationship with God. Jesus said to His disciples, I assure you and most solemnly say to you, it is difficult for a rich man who clings to possessions and status as security to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man who places his faith in wealth and status to enter the kingdom of God. When the disciples heard this, they were completely astonished and bewildered, saying, then who can be saved from the wrath of God? But Jesus looked at them and said, with people as far as it depends on them it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:16-26. The young man was rich, but his riches could not buy or earn him what he wanted and the important aspect in this man’s life was he desired something but did not have the opportunity to get it himself, if he would, he could have, but he could not because the power to have what he needed was not in his hands but in the hands of Jesus Christ.

Another thing to learn to learn here is that he was able to meet with the right person, Jesus Christ what was able to give him exactly what he wanted in life most besides his wealth; he got all the attention he needed from Christ; asked the right questions and got the right answers to satisfy his needs and qualify him to earn what he wanted, but he left that meeting angry instead of being happy and joyful. Remember, he meets the right person, asked the right question and got the right answers. All that he required at that time was to be obedient and comply and his needs would have been met. He was left the presence of the only person who can give him exactly what he wanted in life with distress and grieve just because of disobedience. It will take disobedience to remain in grieve and distress, let us learn to obey God. For Prayers Click here
