AND THE WALL OF JERICHO FELL

Post date: Nov 29, 2013 5:15:05 AM

As you put your sorrows and pains aside, deliberately giving God all the thanks He needs and rightly deserve in your life, He will show up in a mighty way for you. Trusting in God is never in vain, following His words and promises are never in vain, and giving Him thanks are never in vain. These are three things that God will never ignore, will never forget and will always reward in a handsome way. Trust that you will have a special divinely inspired song in your heart soon, the one that will truly express what He had done, not that which someone else had composed and is reigning, but the one from your own heart as God will show up to take His glory.

The walls of Jericho did not fall down because the children of Israel were strong, armed and able to push them down; it fell because they trusted their God, followed His words and promises, and took off their pains and began praising Him consecutively for seven good days as He instructed them to do. The promises of God to you and His revealed words in the scriptures might always seem impossible for you to believe and accomplish considering the fears from all quarters, all the uncertainties that you see, hear and read about every day from people around the world, all the abuses you have heard and those you have not heard, the demeaning humiliations and the lack of any meaning progress and opportunities since you began to follow the Lord, but God will show up to make a difference, wherever He shows up, the leave behind good memories.

As you diligently continue to hold on to His words, to His promises and in thanksgiving, you will surely have the victory, a new song that comes from the changes that are far beyond your strength, knowledge and best understanding. Despite the passage of time and the seasons, God will not forget you; He has not forgotten you, and He will surely reward you.

You are not alone in the uncertainties of life now and that which is ahead. One thing I am very sure of is that the promises of God are unfailing despite the time and the tides of life, despite the economic outlook and the government in control, despite the strength of your enemies and their aggressions nature, and despite their locations and influence in your life. Moses, while following the words of God had uncertainties, but in the midst of it God showed up mightily. He had credibility problem with the people when he faced the wall of Jericho, but God showed up. He had difficulties providing for them in the wilderness, but God showed up.

That same God will show up for you. “And the seventh time, when the priests had blown the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, Shout For the Lord has given you the city. And the city and all that is in it shall be devoted to the Lord; only Rahab the harlot and all who are with her in her house shall live, because she hid the messengers whom we sent. But you, keep yourselves from the accursed and devoted things, lest when you have devoted it, you take of the accursed thing, and so make the camp of Israel accursed and trouble it. But all the silver and gold and vessels of bronze and iron are consecrated to the Lord; they shall come into the treasury of the Lord. So the people shouted, and the trumpets were blown. When the people heard the sound of the trumpet, they raised a great shout, and Jericho’s wall fell down in its place, so that the Israelites went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city” Joshua 6:16-20

When the children of Israel thankfully praise their God that which was impossible before suddenly became possible. That was what praise did, you will not thank God in vain and you will not praise His name in vain. As he rewarded the children of Israel, so will He reward you, shout His praise in thanksgiving.
