SHOW YOURSELF

“And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.” 1 Kings 18:1

After a period of three years and six months without rain in Samaria and in hiding, God asked Elijah to go and show himself to King Ahab and He will send rain. This was a tough period in the land, famine, hunger, death and cries. Remember, at this time also, Elijah was hiding because King Ahab and his wife wanted to kill him due to his prayer that stopped the rain and set in the famine. The word of God to Elijah was just show up and I will do the rest.

The Lord says there is room for you.  You have every chance to succeed in this life.  In the area of your fears, you can be successful, in the area of your weakness, you can be successful. In the area of previous failures, you can be successful.  Thoughts, words and actions of men will not overcome God’s word for your life if you will follow God in true obedience.

Heaven is waiting to celebrate you. Christ Jesus desires your success; He had, long before your birth, prayed and paid the ultimate price necessary for you to succeed. On the cross at Calvary, He gave us an all-encompassing access through His blood to salvation which includes, joy, peace, a living hope, victory, success etc. God will never give you salvation and deprive you of its inherent joy and benefits.   David prayed “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit”. Psalms 51:12

God will never promise anyone anything He cannot or will not do on earth or in your life. All of His words are true because it is impossible for Him to lie.

You can define your next level of success by the actions you begin to implement today.  God is making it to be within your reach as you follow Him every day. Develop and sustain that mind-set and the necessary habits that will bring you into God’s plans for your life.  God can bring down the high and exalt the low. He can dry up the green and made the dry to flourish. That is the power of the God we serve. He can do that for you.

Success in the sight of God does not require your being a genius in any field but it does require your believing and acting on His words and to have some working knowledge of what you are actually doing on earth.

Success has a direct connection with your everyday activities. Don’t dare to dream of being successful when your hands, your mind, your legs, your thoughts, and your mouth are idle. These are instruments given to us by God that when properly used, will bring us into the sublime of life. Besides, you might not have the power of all these instruments, but certainly no human being is deficient in all. There must certainly be an action whose result is progressive and positive for your success to begin.  God does not do or say anything to flatter any man. His words and doings are open for the world to see and so will your success be.

When Elijah showed up, God used him to challenge the prophets of baal and prove Himself able, He also used him to restore the hearts of the people. Thereafter, Elijah prayed, and God send down the rain.

It is time to break the jinx of hindrances and frustrations that keeps us hiding, it is time to show up and let God glorify Himself. He will send back the rain; He will restore the land, the waste and the joy of His children. You will bring forth fruit.

“And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit”. James 5:18
