THE RIGHT PLACE

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me” Psalms 23:4

David had his life ambition turned around the day Samuel anointed him in his father’s house. That turnaround was not preplanned by David but was destined by God. When God destines you for a purpose, He will also destine you for a turnaround that will lead to your fulfilling that purpose and glorifying Him name. This is where people experience severe conflict in life always (at the point of a turnaround). The only reason you will be able to reach and to fulfill God’s purpose for your life is when you whole heartedly follow God in your life. Fulfilling God’s purpose comes with a cost of surrendering your purpose for His purpose and your dreams for His

One thing I have notices is that the day you take the decision to follow God, unknown to you the devil also take the decision to follow you with the singular aim of hindering your success in the mission. God also makes a decision to defend, protect and ensure you are successful. You are not fighting the devil, but God fights on your behalf everyday. That is what David expressed in Psalm 23 which is nothing else but his personal testimony. Everyone is looking for the right place in life to live, to invest, and to school, to work and do anything that is pleasant, the more we look the more we understand that this place is full of trouble. But through God’s love, we will not only survive the trouble therein but will make great strides that will glorify God.

On the road to fulfill the reason for the anointing, David did pass through many rough, terrible and terrifying stages that did threaten his very existence. From his father’s house, he went back to the bush to look after the sheep; from the bush to the palace as a servant, from the palace to the forest again as a fugitive and from the forest to the palace the second time as a king. Did you know that your experience might be similar? As God was with David, He will also be with you.

For expressing His dream, Joseph passed through the greatest humiliation in his life to get them fulfilled. Don’t expect the devil to fight you with a kids glove when you are anointed, called or have a vision or a dream. Don’t expect the devil to close his eyes on you when the spirit of God is in you. Always expect God to give you the victory you despite the trouble. There is no situation God cannot touch, change and give His beauty, Romans 8:37 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us”. David exclaimed “-- for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me”

The wrong places in life are always the right place for training, developing and testing to prove fitness, endurance, perseverance, sincerity, consistency, humility and faithfulness to God. Soldiers are not trained in the comfort of their homes but in rough places so they can be fit. Christ Jesus was first taken straight to the wilderness to be tempted immediately after the baptism. That was the wrong place for Him to go but the right place to prove Him. The right places in live is always a place of quick transition and greater services, and I know you will get there.

Remember, the first time David was taken to the palace; it was the right place for him, but at the wrong time and he suffered. The second time was the right place and the right time and he served.

Be focused. The God who saves knows you, the God who sustains will sustain you, and the God who blesses people will bless you. He did not abandon David, He restored Him. I know that same God will restore you soon. My God will not keep you at the wrong place for too long “He renews my strength; He guides me along the right paths, bringing honor to His name.” Psalm 23:3
