“IF ONLY YOU WOULD BE DETERMINED”

Discouragement does not respect tradition, religion, age, personality, profession, location, wealth and name associated with any status, title or position, but it has great respect for true determination when combined with your faith as a Christian. It will take determination to break yokes, to live the life that God had destined for you, to have the good things you desire the right way, to see your dreams and visions come through, and to excel in whatever you are doing today despite your age, location, profession, and nationality. As a Christian, determination is having the firmness of purpose until the word of God is fulfilled concerning the purpose without compromising God’s standard and ignoring the dignity in your faith for what you need in whatever situation you find yourself. The woman with the issue of blood had the idea of touching the garment of Jesus Christ and with determination, she moved to where he was instead of waiting for Him to come to her or prophecy concerning her situation. The ruler and synagogue official had the knowledge that Christ Jesus can heal his daughter and was determined enough to drop the dignity of his position in as a ruler and synagogue official to go to Jesus Christ instead of sending for Him. Two blind men knew Christ Jesus can and will heal them, they knew He is merciful and full of compassion and they were determined to follow him screaming loudly for mercy and compassion despite their physical situation and hindrances and they received what they were determined to receive. The prodigal son was determined to go back to his father with an apology despite knowing the evil he did before to him; he knew his father was always merciful and will accept him back.

“I will get up and go to my father, and I will say to him, father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; just treat me like one of your hired men. So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. And the son said to him, father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son. But the father said to his servants, quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him; and give him a ring for his hand, and sandals for his feet. And bring the fattened calf and slaughter it, and let us feast and celebrate.” Luke 15:18-23 Determination is being resolute in your decision to follow and abide in Christ, in His teaching and practice His commandments; it is having the willpower to stand and continue in Him no matter what; it is strength to your character, it is being single-mindedness, purposefulness, intentness, persistence, power, and being strong-mindedness and remain in Christ until you see His blessings in your life and in the things you have given yourself to do in life. Determination will make God to celebrate you.

Determination will open opportunities for you; it will teach you humility and purpose; will make you benefit in having good relationships with God and man; determination is able to break the unpleasant cycles of shame in your life, family, and profession as it did with Hannah when she was determined to have a discussion with God and Eli and that liberated her from the shame and humiliation in her marriage and childlessness; determination will liberate you from the fear of men and that of the system that seeks to hold you down in discouragement and disappointment; determination will break the cycle of failure as it did for Jabaz in seeking the face of God when future life was compared to that of his parents and siblings before him; determination will deliver you from loneliness caused by the lack of self-esteem and thoughts that no one loves you when you determine to love someone unconditionally, love your spouse, children, family members, and colleagues unconditionally irrespective of what you have known of them and what they have done to you previously as Mary Magdalene did with Jesus Christ despite knowing her profession and knowing that Jesus Christ speaks against such lifestyle; determination will take all weakness away from you, and will deliver you from your disabilities.
