DRIVEN BY DESIRE – ISRAEL STRAYED --- YOU SHOULD NOT (2)

Despite the present situation and the ones to come, quitting is not your option, and it is never an option you should ever consider. The present failure is not the end of God’s promises for you and never the end of His love for you. We have every grace through Christ Jesus to fully recover all we have ever lost; to be delivered from all forms of afflictions; to be freed from humiliation, shame, and sadness, and to be blessed again by Him. His promises never fail and His love never ends. Once we turn to Him in true repentance, not regrets, and be in submission to His principles, His precepts, His commandments, and His words, we are confident that He will rescue us, will free us, will heal us, will deliver us from all destruction and humiliations, and He will take us to the place He had prepared for us while waiting for His second coming. God does not change and His promises for you had not changed despite what you see, experience, and know.

Adverse situations may roar at you like a lion, come after you to devour your flesh or take all that belongs to you, all that which you have labored for over the years in faithfulness, yet, Our God is still loving, still merciful, still capable of giving you His miracle and He will never forsake you and no one can advise Him to do otherwise. When situations change, watch your desires despite the comfort you may have in them, and the promises they give to you, wrong desires will destroy you despite the peace they offer, they can be the source of your endless troubles; despite the hope you have in them, they can lead you in the wrong direction for the rest of your life. God wants you to fix your hope on Him; He wants you to always desire Him, desire His presence, desires His power, desire His mercy, desires His wisdom, desires His knowledge, and desire His loves. He is the only one who will bless you without putting you in bondage annually or daily or monthly.

Israel desired to be like other nations but not be governed like other nations; they desired to see a physical man lead them instead of a spiritual God before them; they desired to see victory in battles and the miraculous supplies of God’s blessing and presence while being lead by a man and in all senses, that was not God’s plan for them. God was there to always lead them through and in things and situations even when they could not see Him physically. This was their request:-

“When Samuel became old, he made his sons judges over Israel. The name of his firstborn son was Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beersheba. Yet his sons did not walk in his ways but turned aside after gain. They took bribes and perverted justice. Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah and said to him, behold, you are old and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint for us a king to judge us like all the nations. But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed to the Lord. And the Lord said to Samuel, obey the voice of the people in all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me from being king over them. According to all the deeds that they have done, from the day I brought them up out of Egypt even to this day, forsaking me and serving other gods, so they are also doing to you. Now then, obey their voice; only you shall solemnly warn them and show them the ways of the king who shall reign over them.” 1 Samuel 8:1-9

There are consequences when we reject God, reject His words, and reject His commands despite our views of the situation on hand, despite the feelings within ourselves and for others, despite our understanding and knowledge by our desires. It is better to remain in the Lord, keep His words, follow and obey His commands in all situations. He will not change and He is quite able to change all things even the situation if we do not desire anything outside His plans. God does not plan evil, does not support evil, and will never do evil. Israel never recovered from that single act to date. God does not want you there. Do not desire what others are doing, do not desire their place, and do not desire to be evil. The Almighty God is with you. For prayers, Click here
