“THAT FEAR IS A WICKED SPIRIT"

What are your fears, why are they there and what are they doing in your life? Any fear that seeks to stop you from doing what is good and right to yourself and to others; what is acceptable before God as it is in the scriptures; what is morally right in every circumstance; what you truly need to advance your life beyond where it is right now; advance your relationship with your colleagues, your spouse, your family members and your children; improve your overall health; improve and enhance your professional career; improve your neighborhood and elevate your faith and trust in the Almighty God is wickedness from hell to deprive you. Paul writing to Timothy urged him to overcome the hindering power of fear through the faith and the recognition of the gift of God in his life, him said: “I thank God, whom I worship and serve with a clear conscience the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day, and as I recall your tears, I long to see you so that I may be filled with joy. I remember your sincere and unqualified faith the surrendering of your entire self to God in Christ with confident trust in His power, wisdom and goodness, a faith which first lived in the heart of your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am confident that it is in you as well. That is why I remind you to fan into flame the gracious gift of God, that inner fire, the special endowment which is in you through the laying on of my hands with those of the elders at your ordination. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but He has given us a spirit of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline, abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:3-7. Irrespective of the level of fear working to hinder your progress in the things that God had destined, design and planned for you, there is a greater amount of faith from Christ Jesus in you to overcome the wickedness of fear through salvation.

Did you know that some people are afraid to speak the truth; afraid to stay around people; afraid to do what they know and are convinced is capable of changing their wealth and life; afraid to speak and afraid to walk in the light and in the night? Fear is not a head thought; it is a spirit that influences human behavior and all living things in a negative way; it is hidden in the heart and mind and affects our thoughts process and our actions whenever it is in operation. When one experiences fear in anything after receiving assurance that it is the will of God for you at that time or moment, know that you are being haunted by the spirit of fear to disobey, to stay back, or to stop and you have to be very careful from then on. I want you to know that your faith is tested where and when fear is being experienced; it is also good to know that your faith is elevated when you overcome fear; faith works better where fear exists and rules and without the presence of fear your faith will be dormant. Everyone is fearful irrespective of their positions, wealth, boldness, strength, names, and the number of people and ammunitions employed to provide a twenty-four seven security guard without the spirit of God dwelling in them; it takes only the active working of the Spirit of the living God dwelling in a person to be bold enough against the spirit of fear and to be bold enough to take a stand against the spirit of fear. Wherever fear exists, it dominates and controls, it hinders, prevents and stops every good will and actions that will bring freedom and liberation to you in whatever you do. Paul noticed the willingness in Timothy, he noticed his ability and readiness to be committed to serving God in any way possible, he noticed his faith and also noticed the presence of fear in him despite the good gifts that God had given to him. Paul’s advice to Timothy was to fan the fire of faith in what was given to him by the Spirit of God through his actions. Paul noticed that the only thing that will free Timothy and make him useful to himself, and to the work was the action he takes against the spirit of fear. There is much fear among Christians today than faith in God and this fear is bad for you and for your progress despite your prayers. For Prayers Click here
