FOURTH ELEMENT IN RELATIONSHIPS

The fourth element in relationships is the trust you have in God, in yourself and in the things you are doing in the relationship. Trust is an unannounced and very necessary requirement in every relationship, in every marriage, in every family, in every office, in every profession and every job. Trust open doors of favor and honor, gives hope and keeps expectations alive; trust gives peace even in times of fear and rebuke. The world needs trust in all human beings, every country needs trust in her citizens, trust in leadership, trust in friendship, trust in colleagues, and trust in infrastructures. Marriage relationship needs trust more than ever before, children need parental trust more than ever before; employers needs trust more than ever before; the government needs trust more than ever before; our neighborhood needs trust more than ever before and without trust, relationship suffers and progression is either delay or denied in a relationship.

While you show love, use words diligently, acts appropriately, endeavor also to build and sustain trust. You can never succeed in this world without trust despite your prayers and fasting and all your duties before God. God is equally looking for trusted Christians to reward and rain down more of His blessings on them. Trust and faithfulness are two words that cannot be separated, the trust you show in a relationship reveals how faithful you are in that relationship and God will not fail to reward all of your trust and faithfulness even when other partners in the relationship are not as faithful, trusted and committed as you are. God’s reward belongs to you and will come to you and not them.  “Those who trust in and rely on the Lord with confident expectation are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but remains forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever. For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land of the righteous, so that the righteous will not reach out their hands to do wrong. Do good, O Lord, to those who are good and to those who are upright in their hearts. But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways in unresponsiveness to God, the Lord will lead them away with those who do evil. Peace be upon Israel.” Psalm 125:1-5

It takes much time to build trust and it can be destroyed in a twinkle of an eye. It will be good to know that trust cannot be built over the night but it is quite possible and very necessary to begin building it the moment the relationship begins and to give it time and years to grow. It will definitely require time, years, diligence, patience, understanding, character, inspiration, test, carefulness and action to grow trust based on God’s love and when that is established, all that God had intended for that relationship in His love will be given to you. It is commendable and very necessary that as you begin a relationship, you also begin building trust and holding onto God in all things to lead you and open up doors for you. It is certain that no one will trust you if you do not show trust and do not trust them in return. A true trust guarantees favor from God and from men in every establishment and profession.

When God trust you with the proper use of money, He will give you more; when He trust you in the delivery of truth, He reveals more secrets to you; when He trust you in making peace, He will direct people who are hurt to you; when He trust you in being faithful and judicious, He makes more resources available to you and open up His treasure for you. “O Jacob, how can you say the Lord does not see your troubles? O Israel, how can you say God ignores your rights? Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:26-31.
