I WILL DO A NEW THING

“The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.” Proverbs 10:22. Everyone needs a blessing in life, and without doubt, big or small, God’s blessings are quite significant, transforming, peaceful and satisfying, and there is nothing to be compared with it. Solomon crowns it with the sentence, God adds to sorrow to His blessings, and that is the God you serve. Just as our expectations in life differs from person to person, so is what we consider to be new and news. But irrespective of your standing expectations and considerations in life, God said He will do a new thing and that is my ultimate expectation for you. God taking you from what had been to what will and should be concerning you, moving you from what they say to what God had said about you, and moving you from what they do to what God will do concerning your situation, this is because of His promises, I will do a new thing, and I know and trust all of His promises never fails.

God owes you no obligation to first inform you of what He will do before carrying them out. The fowls in the air and the animals in the forest trust Him for something new and for their daily food every day and He satisfies them. All we have to do is to trust Him, rely on Him and follow Him. “He gives food to the wild animals and feeds the young ravens when they cry. He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might. No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.” Palm 147:9-11

We do not all have the same feelings in many things, what might be new and news to one person may not be new and news to another, but my prayers for you is that God will give you that which is new and of a good news to you this year. Desires are never complete and never satisfactory without a joyful manifestation of those things desired either through work or godly intervention, but far beyond those lofty inspiring desires and even in them, God said He will do a new thing.

“I am the Lord, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King. Thus says the Lord, Who makes a way through the sea and a path through the mighty waters, Who brings forth chariot and horse, army and mighty warrior. They lie down together, they cannot rise; they are extinguished, they are quenched like a lamp wick: Do not remember the former things; neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:15-19

Even in the most unlikely place in the wilderness of life, in the desert where there is no hope and certainty, and in the very worst situation in life, God is never absent and can definitely make a new thing even in old and familiar situations. This year, forget the old thing and look forward to something new in your life as an individual, family, finance and health.

When God permits anything in your life, He has a better purpose to be fulfilled in you and He will surely have to do a new thing for that to happen. He permitted Job to be afflicted by Satan, but He restored him seven times better thereafter. He permitted Daniel to be thrown into the Lion’s den, but He kept him safe and took him out to honor His name before the king. He permitted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to be thrown into the burning furnace, but He ensured they were not hurt by the fire and brought them out safely and exalted His name before the king and the people. He permitted Hannah to be temporarily barren only to later open her womb to give birth to one of the greatest prophets in Israel, Samuel. He permitted Sara to see her desire in old age, made her to laugh, and to rejoice with friend. Though hungry, He permitted the multitude to keep following Him for three days and thereafter, He did a new thing by feeding thousands with a kid’s meal. Nothing will make God to fail in your case, and nothing will make you to fail as you diligently walk with Him, God will surely make a new thing. Amen
