OH MY DEAR LORD, WHERE IS YOUR HELP? (1)

“The king is not saved by the great size of his army; a warrior is not rescued by his great strength. A horse is a false hope for victory, nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength. Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon those who fear Him and worship Him with awe-inspired reverence and obedience, on those who hope confidently in His compassion and loving-kindness, to rescue their lives from death and keep them alive in famine.” Psalms 33:16-19. Dear Lord, many are dying for crimes they did not commit, many are crying for justice, many are in wants of basic things of life, many had been forcefully deprived by the powerful, many are suffering for sins they did not commit, many had been held captives for years, their hope is delayed, they have waited for too long for peace, for marriage, for reconciliation, for promotion, for restoration, and for their children. They are trusting in the promise and in your words and in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Lord, they have waited and are still waiting, Oh dear God, where is your help? Lord who or what is stronger than You? Who else can we go to for help beside You? You are our God and alone are our Lord and we are sure You will give us the help we need.

When three strong nations and their kings with weapons of war connive to fight against King Jehoshaphat and the children of Israel to drive away from the land You gave them, the king and the people of Israel cried to you in their petitions and You heard them and helped them and gave them an outstanding victory by your actions and by your power, they had peace all around them and joyfully praised your name thereafter. “But now here are men from Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, whose territory you would not allow Israel to invade when they came from Egypt; so they turned away from them and did not destroy them. See how they are repaying us by coming to drive us out of the possession you gave us as an inheritance. Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you. He said: listen King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem. This is what the Lord says to you: do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. Then, led by Jehoshaphat, all the men of Judah and Jerusalem returned joyfully to Jerusalem, for the Lord had given them cause to rejoice over their enemies. They entered Jerusalem and went to the temple of the Lord with harps and lyres and trumpets. The fear of God came on all the surrounding kingdoms when they heard how the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel. And the kingdom of Jehoshaphat was at peace, for his God had given him rest on every side.” 2 Chronicles 20:10-12, 15, 27-30. Oh dear Lord, it is time to help us, it is time to help me and now is the time.

Many Christians are fighting battles they do not know it’s origin and do not know when it will end; many are standing and walking on the shadow of death and destruction every day; many have seen with their eyes how the devil had destroyed their lives, spouses, children, marriage, job, profession, churches, and ministries; many have seen their dreams end unfulfilled and their hope killed by delays and fear and disappointment, and many are still holding unto You Lord for their victory and Lord You will not fail, this is the right time to help and to give them victory on every side. Lord, You gave Abraham victory through Your help and You fulfilled all of your words and promises to him, it is time to help me, dear Lord. “The Lord is the friend of those who obeys him and he affirms his covenant with them. I look to the Lord for help at all times, and he rescues me from danger. Turn to me, Lord, and be merciful to me, because I am lonely and weak. Relieve me of my worries and save me from all my troubles. Consider my distress and suffering and forgive all my sins. See how many enemies I have;see how much they hate me. Protect me and save me; keep me from defeat. I come to you for safety.” Psalm 25: 14-20. For prayers Click here
