“Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way. We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right. Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh water and bitter water? Does a fig tree produce olives or a grapevine produce figs? No, and you can’t draw fresh water from a salty spring. If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. Jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy, and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.” James 1:1-18

The stronghold of Satan in the lives of many Christians are the things they take for granted; the things they consider insignificant to derail or delay their dreams, desires, marriages, profession, their faithfulness and their commitments to faith in the word of God, and in Christ Jesus; the sins in their lives they take for granted or consider too small to badly affect their Christian values and morals, the sins they consider normal to humanity and their ignorance of the word, the desires, the commands and the plans of God. Many Christians are not aware of the activities of Satan in the world and in their lives, they have taken Satan for granted and have given him the freedom to act and decide their fate and future only to cry out when the wicked deeds start showing itself openly for the world to see. Words are powerful whether they are loosed or controlled and many are not aware. With words be bless, with words, we curse, with words we learn and with words we take action. There is power in the words you speak, and the ones you hear.

Every word we speak irrespective of the language we use and the situation we find ourselves are powerful and all have consequences and careless words produce a quick result. Sin provides quick access for Satan to succeed in the life of Christians; it becomes a reproach, a setback and a source for the hindrances we experience. We should not be careless with the idle words spoken by people against us mostly if it had to do with our desires, with our prayer request, and with the things we expect from God. Sin gives Satan the stronghold to stand and continue his activities, gives him the legal authority and right to afflict Christians without fear and without mercy.

Do not take jealous, selfish, ambitious, cover words, boasting and lying for granted and do not be careless of and with such words. They are not from God, they are unspiritual, demonic, evil, and results in confusion, sadness and creates disorder and evil of every kind wherever you go and in whatever you do. When Satan afflicts you in any form or way, he is serious, he has an aim, has a purpose, has a desire, and above all, he is forever merciless. Prayer Request Click here
