THE COST OF FULFILLING A DESTINY (I)

God did not ask Satan to spare the life of Job, destroy his family, his business and make him sick for the sake of showing His authority over Satan and all things alone. God purposely did all that in order to show to the world that He has the power over Satan; He has the power to preserve all lives; He has the power to reverse every evil action and the wicked effects of evil; He has the power to restore whatever had stolen or destroyed by the devil or men, and He has the power to even make things new and far better than we can and will ever think and know them to be. In all his understanding and knowledge; in his religious belief and faithfulness to God, Job never in any way knew that God allowed those things to happen so He God alone will take the glory and that those things were allowed so that through his actions, he will fulfill the destiny that God had personally in His love and power designed and assigned to him alone in his time.

There are divine values in every life and in every assigned destiny, and often times, your destiny is far bigger than just you and your comfort. There is value in your destiny and you are definitely required to pay the full price for the divine destiny. It is good to know that Christ Jesus paid the full price for all of our sins before giving us salvation and He did that so He can open the doors of our eyes and knowledge to have a glimpse of our destiny in and through Him, and also gives us the grace to realize the destiny. But despite the joy of our salvation and given grace, we are definitely required to pay the full price for the destiny to come true. Destinies are never fulfilled by just believing in them, they are fulfilled by believing and acting with divine knowledge and understanding on the words of God, humility and obedience, faithfulness and diligence, trusting and relying, and working with God in every step we will ever take as true believing Christians and children of the living God. Destiny is what makes a difference, not our great gifts or talents. We may have the same talents, the same gift, the same visions, dreams, and desires, we may even have the same name and are in the same profession rendering the same services and doing the same duties but our destiny differs greatly and costs of fulfilling them differs. God will never allow any of us to make mistakes when it comes to fulfilling our destiny in Him and He will not allow us to pay the wrong price for the destiny He never designed and assigned to us.

Job paid the full price for his destiny in God for a total and exceeding recovery through having and maintaining a good working relationship with God; not blaming God for what happened to him after losing everything he ever worked for, his entire family, and falling sick in just one day. He paid the full price by maintaining his integrity before God and men despite his situation and shame, still maintaining his faithfulness to God; still upholding his obedience and preference to Him than any comfort or anyone else. Despite what he went through, Job never doubted God, never accuse Him, never gave up hope and trust, never allowed people to speak ill of his God despite what people said of him; he never changed his character despite not having the same opportunity as he had before, and Job never turn his back on the ways of God as he was in the beginning of his life and relationship with God. In walking for our destiny, Satan will want to change you by changing your situation; he will want to change your words, dreams and vision towards God and His words. This is what Job was before he was afflicted: “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God and eschewed evil.” Job 1:1. This is what Job said as the affliction lasted: “though He slays me, yet will I trust in him; but I will maintain mine own ways before him” Job 13:15. And this is Job was after God had restored him and his destiny: “So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning.” Job 42:12. Despite what Satan had done against you, God’s designed and assigned destiny for you are intact; He will defend and sustain you and He will enable you to pay the full price for the destined that He will enable you to fulfill as He did with Job.
