A SURE REFUGE FROM THE STORMS (5)

Post date: Apr 23, 2020 11:18:41 PM

God is not leaving you in this storm alone, He is taking you through it; He is not abandoning you to be tormented by the fears and uncertainties that follow, God is calming down you with His words, and His promises of never forsaking you. The days may be tough but you will not be destroyed by it; the times may be difficult but they will soon be over; you may know when and how your next supplies will come, but God will make away for you. He is present and a dependable helper who will not depart irrespective of the situation and the storms of life. Our Lord Jesus Christ did not turn back from the Cross, He did not regret the Cross, and our Father in heaven did not abandon Him. He took our sins and sorrows, our fears, and our worries, our sicknesses, and pains, and He nailed them to the Cross and thereafter rose triumphantly declaring victory for us. That victory is to last till eternity comes and as long as we keep our faith In him, our eyes on Him, and our Hope on Him, we will not be put to shame. God will deliver us, He will bless us and He will defend us because He is a sure refuge to all who believe in Him in times of storm and at all times.

As the children of Israel stood at the bank of the Red Sea, they saw the obstruction to their plans of escape and their forward movement, not knowing what to do and how they will cross over the sea, they saw the water roar, the tides building and water rising up, the armies of Pharaoh coming behind, they saw uncertainty, they saw destruction in front and behind, they saw confusion and loss of hope. To go forward was as bad as going forward because of what they saw and knew, but unknown to them, God was about to give them a miracle that will last throughout history. When Moses turned to God in prayers, not giving himself to follow any of the confusion in the camp, God asked Moses to tell the people to go forward. “And Moses said unto the people, fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord which He will shew to you today, for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more forever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. And the Lord said unto Moses, wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward. But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it, and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. And I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians and they will charge in after the Israelites. My great glory will be displayed through Pharaoh and his troops, his chariots, and his charioteers. When my glory is displayed through them, all Egypt will see my glory and know that I am the Lord.” Exodus 14:13-16

As we see the storms coming, hear the roaring and the fiery rage, the tides building, the number of death increasing, hunger and lack taking its toll, the sick being unable to have medical attention, the lonely getting into more depression, let us remember what God did to the children of Israel at the Red Sea. Despite the fears, the uncertainties in their eyes, the rising of the waters, the approaching armies behind, and the obstructing waters, God did what they never in their best imagination and wisdom thought could ever happen. It was a miracle that glorified God, that liberated Israel, that proved to Pharaoh and the people that God was with them; before today, even in this storm and uncertainties, is the God of miracle, He will give you what is good for you, He will defend you, He will keep you, and He will see you through. As we prepare to go through the storm, as we prepared to survive the storm, as we prepare to say strong and healthy, as we prepare to pray and read and study His word, let us fix our eyes on Christ Jesus alone, fix our trust on Christ Jesus, fix our hope on Him, believe and trust His word more. Let us keep hope and faith alive, let us remember He is merciful and loving, He is faithful and caring, let us remember He does not want anyone to die, not even the sinners. As Moses, let us lift up our voices and call on Him to lead us through this raging storm. Dear Father, as you gave Moses answer, answer us also today, in Jesus' name, Amen. For prayers, Click here
