LORD, HELP MY THOUGHTS AND WORDS

Post date: May 23, 2013 4:13:09 AM

Your entire life is wrapped around the kind of thoughts you give yourself to think always and the kind of words you speak to yourself irrespective of your prevailing situation. Before the words and prayers of others will affect you, your own thoughts and words to yourself may have already laid the foundation in your own life. “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” Proverbs 23:7.

Many people have been blessed by their thoughts and words and many have been destroyed by their thoughts and words. All your good efforts at getting to the next level are commendable but the kind of foundation you lay for yourself through your thoughts and words today is what you will definitely build on tomorrow. You can never escape the powerful effect and unending reward of your thoughts and words to yourself.

Though everyone is challenged and everyone is burdened in life, not everyone is confused and not everyone is driven by the evil effect of such challenges and burdens. Make it your routine to bless yourself with your words despite your situations, never curse yourself. One debt you owe yourself is the daily blessing of yourself and you must pay the debt to change your life for good. Always bless yourself with positive words that will lifts up your heart with joy and keep you hopeful the rest of the day irrespective of what people may do and say to you. You will never be able to bless others if you are always cursing yourself directly or indirectly by your words due to your situation. Always remember; you are far bigger and more important than those situations you cry about right now, they may seem strong, but you are stronger through Christ. They may seem overwhelming and complex in nature, but you will have the victory, because the Almighty God is with you for good.

The prodigal son had a very turbulent moment in his life beyond his very best imagination, but he had a thought and a word for himself, and he entered into a conversation with himself which completely changed his life for good forever. He said: “How many hired servants of my father have enough food, and to spare, but I am perishing here of hunger. I will get up and go to my father, and I will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; just make me like one of your hired servants.” Luke 15:17-19. That decision changed him, restored him and secured his place in life forever.

David had challenges in his life, but he said to himself; “I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them. How precious also are your thoughts to me, O God. How great is the sum of them. If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.” Psalm 139:14-18.

God wants you to be blessed by every thought in your heart and by every word from your mouth; He wants you to be a blessing to others irrespective of your situation. He wants you to be His follower in words and in deeds, who will never allow bad situations to prevail over their dreams, desires and efforts in doing what is right and acceptable. Are you seeing this in your life?

God in His wisdom gave man the heart to think and the mouth to talk. Conversation is acceptable and profitable when used wisely. Having a conversation is not having a cheap talk that changes nothing. There are many good things in having a conversation with oneself, with the Lord God, with the devil and with anyone else, but it is absolutely wrong when you are unable to order your conversation right at the right time in the right place with the right people.

Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days” John 2:19. Be consistently positive with your thoughts and words despite the crowd. For Prayers Click here
