WORRY NOT, BUT TRUST GOD

“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition, definite requests, with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul, assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things, fix your minds on them. Practice what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and model your way of living on it, and the God of peace, of untroubled, undisturbed well-being will be with you.” Philippians 4:6-9

It is extremely difficult to tell someone who had been experiencing and suffering the lack of very important and pressing personal or family needs not to be worried especially when time, days and years are passing by fast without any hope or assurance that those needs will be met. But one thing is very certain, worries only aggravates a problem, it does not solve them; and Jesus Christ asked us not to be worried but to trust in Him; to look unto Him, to believe Him; and to follow Him. He promised never to disappoint us; never to forsake us; never to abandon us, and never to let us down. This is because there are no worries in the presence of our God, no fears of failure and no defeat in any physical or spiritual battle, but absolute victory and unending joy, praises and the celebration of what God had already done for others, will do for you in this very life, and will do in the lives of all His children.

Through what you see in your live, that of your spouse, children and family members everyday and every time, you are forced to worry; through what you hear from people around and know personally concerning the over delays in your desires to excel and get pass a particular life situation; delays in executing a well thought out plans after working hard to perfect them for months or even years; delays in seeing your visions come to life; the delays in living in your God given dreams, and the daily struggles you go through every time, you are bound to be worried, but yet the assurance from God is, do not allow what you see, what you hear, what you know and the impossibilities of the season worry you. It is good to know that despite the fact that you are still struggling every day to meet up with many things, you are not a failure; the devil and his agents’ wants to see you being in a state of continuous worries to the extent that it will affect other things in our life negatively thereby causing a greater set back for you. But thanks be to our God for the victory over the devil and the provision in His name to meet our needs through the assurance in His words and promises. You should not be a subject of devils captivity through worries.

Though there may be many things that we will never understand in this world and in ourselves, but despite our lack of understanding of things, we quite understand the reason why Jesus Christ came into the world; why He died on the cross; why He was raised from the dead; and why He is alive today and will be alive throughout eternity, that knowledge is enough to change things in our lives. Our lack of understanding of things happening around us should never, and will never erode us of the purpose of Christ Jesus, of the purpose of our being Christians, and of our remaining faithful to our Father in heaven. Because we know our God; we trust His love; we have read about His power; we will never give up in our desires to be closer to Him, to follow Him and to be expectant of the fulfillment of all of His unfailing promises in our lives.
