I WILL BE YOUR SHIELD

Since creation, God had been absolutely faithful in keeping, preserving and fulfilling all His many promises and words; He had been very merciful, supported and helped all those who call upon Him with all their hearts in sincerity of purpose and will never fail in your own case. God had never failed in fulfilling any of His promises to any man and will never fail concerning the ones He gave to you through His words. God told Abraham in a very clear word, ‘I will be your shield and your exceeding reward’ and God did not fail him in any way. That is the same God you serve, you call upon and trust today. He is known by His words and by His acts. There are no areas of human endeavor that God had been proven wrong and there will never be any. I am convinced that nothing will make God to be proven wrong in your case.

It is in the areas of having a shield over their lives that many Christians are making mistakes in the pursuits of true dreams and real visions. The same God who gave Abraham all the amazing promises that is still working till eternity comes also said to Abraham, He will be his shield when Abraham was not very sure if he will see one of the greatest promises to him fulfilled. It will be good to know that we need a shield in the things we do every day. After every dream from God, after receiving every promise from Him, and after developing the desire to see the fulfillment of those things, sincerely seek for the shield before you begin. Moses told God they will not leave except You go with us. That is having the shield of God upon them all through.

Many of us are dying in the pursuit of our dreams and in the actualization of our visions, this not that our dreams and visions were false or impossible to be fulfilled but because we do not have the shield of God over us to protect us from the attacks, from the temptations, from the wicked forces from hell, from the doubts and thoughts and feelings of failure that will come after us because of those dreams and visions. God did not give you those dreams to make you a failure; He did not give you those visions to show the world how you and foolish you are; He did not give you those promises to keep always expecting without experiencing the happiness and joy in living for Him and having His salvation.

God was true in His promises to Abraham and is always true to us also in all of His promises and words that we receive, believe and have decided to pursue with all diligence; Abraham believed God without doubt or reservation in his heart that God will not do what He said and he actually set his heart to fulfill them in his lifetime, but along the way, he experienced delays, challenges he never knew what to do next and frustrations in waiting and hoping; and God had to assure him at that moment in his life that ‘He will be his shield’ as he presses on for the promises, and that He will reward Him as he pushes through those challenges and frustrations in his life. The shield of God kept him active and will also keep you functional, active and productive.

A shield of any size is a covering for protection for an individual or a thing; God in His words, in His love, in His everlasting care, and in His willingness to give us all the security we will need to live according to His will and accomplish all of His promises had said He will give us the shield we need in life and be fulfilled. There are several shields in the world but there is none as potent, peaceful and as assuring as the shield that comes from our God. There is God’s shield for every one in every location and for every situation when we ask. He will give adequate attention to the smallest and the biggest needs that are presented to Him always by His children.

“After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward. And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness. Then He said to him, I am the Lord, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to inherit it.” Genesis 15:1, 6-7. For prayers, Click here For 2015 Praise and worship Click Here
