"GOD HEARS THE DESIRE OF OUR HEARTS"

“The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day. But the way of the wicked is like total darkness. They have no idea what they are stumbling over. My child, pay attention to what I say, listen carefully to my words, don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Avoid all perverse talk; stay away from corrupt speech. Look straight ahead and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.” Proverbs 4:18-27

Did you know God is watching every step we take and every desire in our hearts? The heart may try to conceal many things from people but nothing can be concealed from the ears and eyes of our God. Even the smallest thought, the insignificant desire and the unintentional, imaginations of the hearts of men are open before the Almighty God. There is no place too dark that He cannot see clearly and there is no secret so deep that He does not know and have a perfect understanding of intent and target. No one can hide anything from the knowledge and eyes of God. The God made the eyes can also see; He who made the heart also knows what is in it, and He who made the ears can hear clearly. If we can control what goes in and out of our heart, we can also control our emotions and feelings and the actions we take thereafter, but when we fail to control what goes into our heart, we will subject ourselves to the feelings and emotions of everything that confronts us daily. The hearts of men is a powerhouse that continuously produces good and evil and it is our duty to control what we want from what we feel, see, know and what we meditate on. We may not be able to control what goes into our heart but we can definitely control what remains in it, what grows in it, and what it will produce thereafter. If we allow what is good to continue in our hearts, we will produce what is good and when we allow evil to remain in our hearts, we will produce evil but that is not God’s desire for us.

It is God’s desire that we be like Him in all things so He made us in His image and likeness; it is His desire that we produce good fruits, so He gave us His word; it is His desire that we have good relationships with Him and with others, so He sent Jesus Christ to show the way and to lead us through the way; He desires that we have good direction and good counsel so He gave us the Holy Spirit to guide our hearts and our thoughts and our desires. God hears the desires in our hearts and He will grant the ones that are consistent and fitting to His plans and will for us. He wants us to guide our hearts with all diligence. “Turn from evil and do good, and you will live in the land forever. For the Lord loves justice, and he will never abandon the godly. He will keep them safe forever, but the children of the wicked will die. The godly will possess the land and will live there forever. The godly offer good counsel; they teach right from wrong. They have made God’s law their own, so they will never slip from his path. The wicked wait in ambush for the godly looking for an excuse to kill them, but the Lord will not let the wicked succeed or let the godly be condemned when they are put on trial. Put your hope in the Lord, travel steadily along his path, He will honor you by giving you the land. You will see the wicked destroyed. I have seen wicked and ruthless people flourishing like a tree in its native soil. But when I looked again, they were gone, though I searched for them, I could not find them. Look at those who are honest and good, a wonderful future awaits those who love peace. But the rebellious will be destroyed; they have no future. The Lord rescues the godly; He is their fortress in times of trouble. The Lord helps them, rescuing them from the wicked. He saves them, and they find shelter in him.” Psalm 37:27-40.
