When deceived by the understanding of Satan, sin entered the world through the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. That event opened their eyes to see themselves as naked and as people needing urgent help which Satan was unable to provide. It opened their eyes to see their emptiness, their shame, their weakness, their lack, their inability, and their loneliness even though Satan was still standing there with them. But despite what sin did to them instantly God did not abandon them, God did not forsake them, God did not forget them, God did not cut off His love and His mercies for them, and God did not allow them to go about naked even in the presence of Satan, God had a conversation with them. He spoke to them and they heard Him.

“And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself. And he said, who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? And the man said, the woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. And the Lord God said unto the woman, what is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, the serpent beguiled me, and I did eat. And the Lord God said unto the serpent, because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field, upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life, and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed, it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception, in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children, and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam, he said, because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, thou shalt not eat of it, cursed is the ground for thy sake, in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life. Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee, and thou shalt eat the herb of the field, in the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground for out of it wast thou taken, for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.” Genesis 3:8-19

Do not be deceived, God is never going to forget His words to you, His promises to you, His Love for you, and He will never forget to show you and give you His mercies. Absolutely there is nothing that will force God to put you aside forever not even Satan and all the afflictions he had brought into your life. Our God is forever merciful, forever loving, and He will definitely keep His promises to you irrespective of the number of years it had been delayed. When God had that conversation with Adam and Eve even in the presence of Satan, God made a promise to Adam and Eve Christ Jesus coming to bruise the head of their tempter. Though it took several years and decades, God did not forget that He had made a promise, though Adam and Eve died several years after, God did not forget His promise, though generations had gone since then, God did not forget His promise to Adam and Eve and at the appointed time, God fulfilled His words in the coming of Christ Jesus to redeem man, to restore man to God’s original plan and purpose, to show man the right way to God and to lead man on the only acceptable path to fulfill God’s desires which Adam and Eve lost.

The coming of Christ Jesus is the fulfillment of the promise of God to Adam and Eve when they fell to the temptation of Satan that is the Christmas we celebrate. In remembering His words and promises for the redemption of man, God used Mary, and Mary saw the word of God fulfilled, Mary saw the promises of God fulfilled, Mary saw God using her to fulfill His promise to Adam and Eve. Will God use you? God has not forgotten His plans concerning you. For prayers, Click here
