ARE YOU ACCEPTING GOD’S WILL?

Post date: May 11, 2016 12:29:13 AM

After hearing what God has to say; waiting for Him to act decisively and clearly, accepting the will of God is the third most difficult thing to do after prayers, and Christians are urged to always accept His will, His plans and to follow His direction for their lives in every situation irrespective of the pains and the sufferings that may or may not come with that will. It is definitely certain that the God we serve has better plans for everyone and is ready to reveal them to any who will ask; but are we ready for this plans that we do not know how they will be; where they will take us in life; where they will place us and what they will be after we have spent the best of our years and our family resources preparing ourselves for our dreams and visions in life? How many of us are willing and ready to follow that direction which we know is uncertain as Moses did when he lead the children of Israel out of Egypt towards the Promise Land that he had no idea where it was located? How many of us are willing to accept significant changes in our lives and professional dreams except it has a higher and better prospect than we had thought? In all things and in all situations, God is never ignorant or without a knowledge and a direction; remember He lead the children of Israel through the wilderness to the Promised Land, not Moses. That same God has a desire to see and to make us successful; He has the desire, the willingness and the ability to help and enable us to overcome, defeat our foes and be successful in life and also be the very best we could ever wish for ourselves. But are we willing and ready to accept His will when they are completely contrary to all that we have prepared ourselves for?

It is not easy to accept God’s will especially when they are contrary to our expectations and life ambitions. God’s will are always followed by great physical and spiritual changes; it will require us to change our minds and thoughts concerning certain things; they will require us to overcome fear of the unknown in our hearts and visions; they will require us to take our eyes off self and off our current ambitions and situations; they will require us to know and trust what God will do, what He can do and what He will not and cannot do. For God’s will to be effective in us we must have to first accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior. The acceptance of Jesus Christ is the first of His will that God wants everyone to know and accept. Many people want the peace that follows God’s will in their lives without knowing that in most cases, God’s will conflicts with our will, and not until we surrender our will, we will never embrace His will and have its positive impact on us. In seeking God’s will we are first confronted with various options to choose from, decisions to make and directions to follow.

Did you know that king Nebuchadnezzar did not just throw the three Hebrew brothers into the burning furnace without giving them options? “Then Nebuchadnezzar in a furious rage gave a command to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego; and these men were brought before the king. Nebuchadnezzar said to them, is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, that you do not serve my gods or worship the golden image which I have set up? Now if you are ready, when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, dulcimer, and all kinds of music, to fall down and worship the image which I have made, very good. But if you do not worship, you shall be thrown at once into the midst of a furnace of blazing fire; and what god is there who can rescue you out of my hands? Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, O Nebuchadnezzar; we do not need to answer you on this point. If it is so, our God whom we serve is able to rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” Daniel 313-18. Did you know Job was given an option by his wife? God is willing to lead you through His will if you are ready to forgo your own will. Jesus said, let your will be done not mine. Luke 22:46.
