ROOTING FOR SUCCESS

You will be challenged in everything you do, either good or bad. These challenges will always differ from person to person and from project to project. What you do and say in time of your challenges matter greatly and what you give yourself to during and after this moment matters. There are great blessings and great consequences in everything we do, say and are involved with.

Every success comes with determination to be involved in all activities that guarantee such. In doing those activities, your words should reflect your desire, your activities should confirm your determination and the God you trust in. Those trusting God for specific purposes in their lives should endeavor to keep themselves from the tricks of the devil.

Job was a man that was firmly rooted in character, words, actions and determination to overcome all forms of adversity and to be successful. He never gave in to his troubles in his mind, in his words, in his expectations and actions; he never gave in to the condemnations of friends, never gave in to the rejections and pressure of his spouse, and never gave in to the sudden change of his statute and fortune. He never gave in to anything that was contrary to his expectation despite the pressures from all quarters. When you are rooted in your mind, be rooted also in your actions and character. God is watching everything concerning you and will act accordingly. Job said;

“Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will.  Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand? Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him. He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him. Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears. Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified”. Job 13:13-18

Job never gave up trusting God even when his last standing friends stood up against him. In the passage above, Job asked his friends to hold their peace as he was determined to keep his faith on the God he knew and trust, he informed them that irrespective of what God will do to him, he will never stop trusting Him, never give up on Him and never change his words. What Job meant was, if God will not heal him, he will trust in him. If God will not restore him, he will still trust in Him. If God will delay his intervention, he will still trust Him. Irrespective of God will do in his case; he will never shift his faithfulness and trust in Him. Those are words of great of purpose and determination that guided his actions till God brought the restoration and blessings.

In Proverbs 3:5-10 we read, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on your understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom, instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones. Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then He will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.

Job was not very impressed with the counsel of his friends against His God, neither was he dependent on his own counsel. The understanding of men can never be better than the counsel of God that you are determined to follow despite what you are going through. When God eventually restored Job, the bible concludes he was seven times better and richer than he had ever been. That is the God you serve, who is able, beyond doubt and the wildest imagination of men to make you better than you have ever been and better than the counsel of your friends irrespective of what you are going through now.

When you are rooted to succeed in your mind, words and actions, God will not shift His grounds in defending and establishing you irrespective of the activities of the devil.
