“But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year. Genesis 17:21. Beloved in Christ Jesus, God is still holding His words of promises to you, He still believes in those words and in you; He is still trusting in you and in your ability to meet His standard and requirements for the promises through Christ Jesus; He is still trusting that you will be able of be what He had said and able to do what He had destined for you. Despite what you are going through, God has not given up on you chosen someone else in place of you.

God is never intimidated by the things that intimidate you; He is never distracted by your many distractions; your present adverse situations are no hindrances to His ability, to His will, and to His purpose for your life. The prayers of the wicked and their evil activities had not forced Him to change His mind or change His words concerning you. He has not transferred the power and the benefits in the covenant to any other person. God is still standing with you to bless you, and to raise you up again when you fall.

Despite all the hindrances that you have experienced, all the delays that have befallen you, all the frustrations that have plague your desires, all the abuses that people have thrown at you, all the shames for not meeting your dreams and benefiting adequately in your years of investment and self-improvement as others, and all the pains in your heart and the cries you have suffered because you are far behind your friends and colleagues, God is still holding His words of covenant with you alive, and will definitely fulfill them. He will not transfer what belongs to you to Ishmael because you are a child protected and kept alive by power of His covenant.

Despite Ishmael being fourteen years older than Isaac, despite being much stronger physically than Isaac, despite having more practical life experiences than Isaac, despite knowing more, seeing more, and understanding more than Isaac, God’s covenant was still with Isaac. His being older did not make God to change His mind; His having more practical life experience did not make God to count him qualified; his knowing more, seeing more and understanding more did not make God to consider changing His words and replacing Isaac with Ishmael. Nothing will ever force God to change you for anyone else, change what He had destined for you, or change what He had prepared for you in this life.

Not even the unparalleled wealth of Ishmael, the life experiences and the physical strength will force God to do otherwise. When God gave Abraham the words of the covenant, Abraham and Sarah were still without a child. They had lost hope of having one and were uncertain of what to do next considering their old age and the consequence that follows it. But despite their thoughts and fears, God was still holding unto the words of His covenant and was about to fulfill that one in their lives without delay again.

Believe that God’s covenant is not with Ishmael irrespective of his threats and strength but with Isaac (you) and nothing can change that, not even the delays that Abraham and Sarah had before, not even the delays and frustrations that Isaac had, not even the abuses and the intimidation when growing up. God will never forget you; He will never forget His promises and He will never take away His covenant from you. Be courageous, be strong, be hopeful and be focused. As He did to fulfill His covenant with Isaac, He will do to fulfill His covenant with you.

Ishmael may be up and running now but you will overtake. He may be strong and very powerful, but you will defeat him. He may wealthy and established, but you will never remain a beggar. He may be very popular, recognized and rewarded, yet, God’s covenant had not changed and had not been transferred; His covenant is with you and you will have the victory. For prayers, Click here
