“Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward: But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. And I behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honor upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.” Exodus 14:12-17.  Fear will still keep you in slavery despite the desires and prayers for freedom.

Fear is a spirit from the devil that works against our best dreams, our best plans, our best desires and ultimately stop us from being fruitful and productive beyond where and what and who we are right now. Fear is mostly magnified by the bad things we have experienced personally in life, the bad things we have in our memory concerning of our past, that of our parents, family, friends and close colleagues; fear is magnified by what we hear from others, things they experienced by their actions and their pains in those things. Fear can cripple the brightest ideas, cripple the best person on earth, the best knowledge to have things done and the best insights you will ever have to solve any problem. Fear is setback in spiritual and physical things; it is an instrument in the hands of the devil to predict a bad result in your mind even before you start. Fear kills faith and leaves in you always in the realm of endless hope without a way out. It closes the doors against you and against you very best; it closes your eyes to see and accept the possibility of success and good productivity. Fear is a hindrance to advance ourselves and to get out of what we have been very comfortable with in life; fear creates anger, jealousy, wickedness, and bitterness inside; it affects our emotions and thoughts; it pushes us to fight good things and go against good people trying to talk us out of being fearful; it produces pains and sadness, it makes us see everyone else as wrong even when they are right, fear unavoidably controls whoever it hold tight in its hands giving wrong ideas to stay, back, hold back, procrastinate and subsequently stop. It creates a horror effect and panic attack coupled with endless anxiety. Fear has a far-reaching effect than we can ever imagine; it creates chaos in our lives, in the life of those around us who depend and look up to us and it has the capacity to impact even those far from us and all the things we do in life. God wants you to stand up against your fears and speak against it now.

Fear stifles our thoughts and stops us from taking genuine actions that will result in a progressive transformation of our lives and that of others around us. Fear in its full hold on our lives creates indecisiveness and an unimaginable level of stagnation despite the opportunities we have, the level of education and qualification that we have, the number of prayers we pray and all the knowledge and experience we have acquired over the years. It is a strong roadblock to God’s plans in our life. When we are controlled by fear, it will dominate our negative emotions, destroy our confidence and stop us from setting or achieving any of our goals. “So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty, is divided between God and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.” James 4:7-10. For prayers Click here
