ELI, ELI, LEMA SABACHTHANI?

That was not a cry of desperation but a cry of pain; it was not a cry to address any issue but a cry to express a human feeling; it was not a cry to beg the soldiers standing guard, but a cry to affirm that the Almighty Father was His absolute trust; it was a cry to confirm that He relied only on the Father for the next level of His life. though the people mocked Him when He cried, the Father did not mock Him; though the people played let wait and see next, the Father was waiting to accomplish what He had destined for you and I; though the Father was silent after the cry, He was not absent in that very moment; though God the Father Almighty did not send any rescue team when Christ Jesus cried on the cross that faithful moment, He sent His angel thereafter to the grave where the final battle was fought and gloriously won with a triumphant and everlasting victory secured for you and I and for all who will ever look on Christ Jesus for salvation and call on His name in truth and in absolute repentance. It was at the grave that the divine rescue took place to firmly seal our faith and hope through the resurrection of the body of Christ Jesus and it was there that the testimonies of the righteous were made perfect, effective and everlasting.

God is not waiting until you are in the grave before sending the rescue you deserved; He is not waiting until you are completely humiliated by the situation before answering your cry; He is not waiting until men make a fool of your sincere walk and total affiliation with him before showing up in your case for a glorious change; He is not waiting until you are beaten, stripped naked and and made hopeless before telling the people that He still remain your God and your redeemer; He is not waiting until you have completely exhausted all your family income before bringing in the promised increase. God is not waiting until the enemies had taken control of you before proving His power in your life and your situation, on that Cross that faithful day, Christ Jesus took all of sins, all of our pains away and cried all of our cries.

The cry of Jesus Christ was not because He was afraid to die, that was one of reasons He came into the world; it was not because He doubted the ability of His Father from heaven to deliver Him, He had seen that before and absolutely trusted in it; it was not because He had no faith in the promise, His faith was never shaken; it was not because He did not trust the Father any more, He knew the Father will never forsake Him because He came to do His will. It was because of the pains and the cruelty of what He was being subjected to by the people before and on the cross by the soldiers; it was because of the weights of the whole world that were placed on Him alone; it was because he never wanted to quit because your salvation and I depended on Him finishing the redemption on that cross. Thank God He did and we are now free to call Him our Lord and savior, to cry Abba Father and to look up to Him with hope and assurance for our future.

It is amazing to know that Jesus Christ our Lord, our God, the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords, the one who came to rescue the world and all humanity from the hands of Satan; the one who defeated Satan and all his demons on the cross; the one who died and was buried and raised again on the third day; the one who is now sitting on the right hand side of God the Father Almighty in His full majesty; the one who will come back into the world to take His redeemed in His painful moment as a man on the cross also asked God the Father why.

“At noon, darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. At about three o’clock, Jesus called out with a loud voice, Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani? Which means My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Some of the bystanders misunderstood and thought he was calling for the prophet Elijah. One of them ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, holding it up to him on a reed stick so he could drink. But the rest said, Wait, Let’s see whether Elijah comes to save him. Then Jesus shouted out again, and he released his spirit.” Matthew 27:45-50. For prayers, Click here For 3 hours of Praise and worship songs Click Here
