After Peter had been a follower, a disciple, and a close companion of Jesus Christ for some years, Christ told him confidently, Satan wants to take something from you by pressuring you to defend yourself and deny me, he wants to test your confidence in the things I have thought you, he wants to see your faithfulness and he wants to know your confident decision and desire in preserving your life and following me. Christ said to him, “Simon, Simon, listen, Satan has demanded permission to sift all of you like grain, but I have prayed especially for you Peter, that your faith and confidence in Me may not fail and you, once you have turned back again to Me, strengthen and support your brothers in the faith. And Peter said to Him, Lord, I am ready to go with You both to prison and to death. Jesus said I say to you, Peter before the rooster crows today, you will utterly deny three times that you know Me.” Luke 22:31-33. Christ did inform Peter before it happened, told Peter he will fail the test and gave him hope for restoration because of His prayers and He reminded Peter to restore others when he is restored. Peter was not told how the test and the pressure will come but it did come. In every pressure that you will face in life and in living, Christ Jesus will make a way for you to overcome and be restored to His will and plans and future for your life, but beware, satan want to take something from you.

Satan obtained permission to take something from Job, his intent was to put pressure on Job in those adversities such that Job will deny God, turn from the words of God and follow his friends and the thoughts and the wisdom of the world. “Then the Lord said to Satan, behold, all that Job has is in your power, only do not put your hand on the man himself.” Job 1:12. The Scripture tells us in clear words, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy, but I came to give life, that they might have life, life in all its fullness and its abundance.” Jon 10:10. The thief here is Satan, coming to take something from you.

The greatest thing that Satan wants to take away from you is your destined future, not your past, your God’s destined destiny not you assumed destiny, he wants to prevent you from ever seeing and being and experiencing what God had said of you, to you, for you, and through you. The various pressures through Satan’s adversities in your life want to force you to go against the words of God, and against His principles; the pressure from friends and family to abandon faith in God, the scripturally known and approved ways are Satan's plot to take something from you. The endless poverty, marital problems, personal and business and relationship disappointments, the dismissal, the loneliness, the barrenness, the joblessness, the childlessness, the delays in receiving the things you deserve, these things and many more are putting pressure on you so you can forgo the plans of God and forgo your destined destiny and your future in God. Remember what happened to Christ Jesus in the wilderness before Satan the devil and what He became after overcoming the pressure of hunger and wealth and position. I want you to know and do all you can to remember that your future and your destiny in God through Christ Jesus is far better than what you are now, better than what you see now, better than what you know now, and it is far better than the very best of whatever your dreams and desires and struggles in life may have been. God’s thoughts for you are higher than the best of any thoughts from anyone in anywhere and nothing will change Him concerning you, but beware of the pressures in your life, Satan wants to take something from you through those pressures. “For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you, says the Lord, plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and listen to you. For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts.” Jeremiah 29:11-12; Isaiah 55:8-9. For prayers, Click here
