A THANKFUL HEART

One of the most profound things that gave David prominence and ensured his overall success in life was not his strength in battles, his prolonged fight against King Saul and the enemies of Israel or in his remarkable victory against Goliath. His prominence came because of his continuous attitude of thankfulness to the living God. His heart of thankfulness began when he was quite unknown but diligently caring for his father's sheep in the forest. Through the perfection of that attitude, he was noticed and called by God, and anointed by Samuel for a larger mission. David perfected the attitude of thankfulness to God in every situation in his life. This is what David wrote: “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High. To show forth thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night. Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery, upon the harp with a solemn sound. For thou, Lord, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. O LORD, how great are thy works, and thy thoughts are very deep.” Psalm 92:1-5 “Enter into His presence with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise, be thankful unto Him, and bless His name” Psalm 100:4.

How often do we spend our time thanking God in prayer instead of just presenting a list of our usual request? There is no issue about us that God does not know about weather we tell him in prayer or not. Despite our many problems, let us learn go before Him with a merry and thankful heart, let us learn to spend quality time in thanking Him for every new day, and meditating in His words. If we learn to keep aside self in His presence and uplift Him with thanks, I am convinced we will be more refreshed after the our prayers, heavy burdens will be lifted, our body will be healed, our desires will be granted and we will be happier than before. Our experiences in life will change, our relationship with others will change, and we will have the peace we deserve.

A person who is continuously thankful to the Lord will find peace in all things despite the prevailing circumstances and that is what God needs to turn things round for you. Such a person will not be controlled by the negative influences in life, but will always be influenced by his or her relationship with Christ Jesus. Thankfulness brings healing to the spirit, body and soul: it gives strength in times of weakness, courage in times of disappointment. It brings us into favor with God and has the power to unleashed the blessings we deserve from heaven. Even when we feel we cannot pray, we can always learn and perfect the attitude of being thankful to God and man.

When you feel uncomfortable, harassed, discourage, confused or disgraced in life, learn to be in the presence of God with thankfulness. God looks at the heart of men at all times to receive sincere thanks. God is not asking you to thank Him for failures, pains or sickness, but to thank Him in hope and in confidence in His ability and in what is to come. People may loss confidence in you but God will not, despite your present situation. God is always confident in Himself, of His abilities, His words, His covenants, and He expects His children to have the same confidence in who and what He is. Have confident in God's faithfulness, and in His unceasing mercies. Appreciate what He had done and be thankful for what He will do. Don't allow your heart of thanks to be dictated by what you are going through in life, but let it be dictated by what you know your God to be. There are several reasons to be thankful for, the psalmist wrote: “I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are thy words; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Psalm 139:14. Thank God for body

When you wake up in the morning, let the peace of God fill and rule your heart instead of the failures, quarrels, angers, disappointments and pains of yesterday, and the troubles waiting for you today. Be thankful for the new day and new things will begin to happen when you are consistent. There is nothing impossible for Him to do. For prayers, Click here
